Spoke to someone close to Tom Brady. Beyond enraged at contract details that netted Broncos Wes Welker. "Disgrace" "disservice" were used.

So they get another Wes welker type. The only knock on ammendola is he's injury prone. Not a bad move.

If he can stay healthy he definitely will be a good addition but of course no way he will be able to put up Wes Welker numbers

Clearly a downgrade......Wes Welker is a tough SOB and got drilled over the middle multiple times a game for years and got right back up, still caught 100 passes a season

Amendola a nice player, Wes Welker he is not

haha man speaking of which....floyd had always been a supporter of andre ward....i remember one of wards fightcamp 360s on showtime for the super 6 when floyd called ward up before he walked to the ring to lend him support....

now all of the sudden ward decides hes rooting for guerrero because they workout together....well floyd went in on him...and then james prince tried to get at floyd....but its funny...what floyd said was true

floyd was basically like "dude you got a gold medal....and you making 1 mil a fight...you 29 and dont have a ppv fight under your name...i can sell more tickets in oakland than you"

Pats are on a 5 year plan right now.

They have Brady and Amendola signed for the next 5 years. I know Gronk and Hernandez are signed long term as well for about the same.

If they can sign Vollmer, the 5 main pieces for the next 5 years are all in place and ready to go on offense.

Welker didn't fit into the 5 year plan.

Miami is not a good team on field. They threw some big money at mediocre talent and quite frankly their qb is never going to be much more than an average guy.

They will win a game nobody thinks they should early and get media excited and then crash back to reality that they are Miami and irrevlevant.

Patriots need to upgrade their defense. Without that they are not going back to the Super Bowl.

how good was brady before welker came in 2007?

I know he won 3 superbowls..but he was relied more to manage the game than throw the ball a lot.

I know he broke out in 2007 when welker came.

How good will he be without welker.

He has had no chemistry with other WRs in the past few years.

Amendola has more upside than welker, IF he stays healthy. Welker was a bum before he came to the pats. The system made him who he is, he won't be missed as much as ppl think he will be.

    joke of a post.

Yeah he only won 3 superbowls without him...

Amendola is entering his prime and Welker is exiting his. Similar skillset, Amendola has better hands even. His injury history isn't nagging like Miles Austin's groin for example.

And heard of Gronkowski and Hernandez? Those 2 pass catchers are pretty decent no?

I believe Eddleman still around as a small quick slot type guy.
If the Tight Ends stay healthy, I believe they will have enough guys to throw to.

I like the move, we'll see how it works out but I would rather have Amendola than Welker right now. Welker dropped away the Superbowl and the game against the Ravens this year. He can rack up all those catches but what good is he if he doesn't do it on the big stage.

Patriots won those 3 superbowls because of great defense and adam vinatieri. Tom brady wasnt asked to do much. He was more of a manager than great QB.

    Also, dont forget spy-gate scandal.

Hernandez, Gronk, Amendola all injury prone. Good thing Brady took less $ so they could get some quality guys around him.

Brady took less $ because he's a system QB. He's be toast if he went to a QB-meat-grinder team like CHI, KC, OAK, etc.

I doubt the Pats issues this year will revolve around a stagnant offense. Team has Gronk, Hernandez, and Lloyd - all 3 are formidable. Amendola has to come in and play slot, splitting time with Edelman. He doesn't need to catch 110 balls like Welker was, he needs to come in and catch 60-70, and let Tom distribute the ball accordingly. Remember Jake Ballard - promising TE from the Giants? He's suiting up this year as well. Tom will have no issues finding someone to throw the ball to.

The Patriots also have begun to develop a running game, taking some pressure off the pass. A more balanced attack, and more of a game management role for the offense.

The Defense is where we will, and have had issues. I'm hoping that they pick up a DB or two. But this defense will have Chandler Jones and Dont'a Hightower entering their sophomore season, so they should improve on decent rookie campaigns.

BLUF: Pats team still wins AFC East, and does no worse than AFC Championship. I still think they have a legitimate shot at the Superbowl, but we're going to need to bring back Talib or another top DB to get there.

Amendola is one of the most underrated WRs in the game. At first I thought who the hell is this guy? Bradford threw to him over and over and over again. He made tough catches. He's fast. Did you see that long catch he had against SF at the end of the game that got called back? I want to say he touched Carlos Rodgers who is a pro bowl corner.

Amendola will be just as good if not better then welker, hes in his prime, hes faster, and believe it or not hes got better hands then welker he just needs to be able to take those big hits like welker could and stay healthy. honestly grab him in fantasy mid rounds, watch him blow up then trade him before he goes down.
