    Yes, but you gotta question how much more Boldin has in the tank, and also take into account his ridiculously high salary. At least an unproven draft pick with cost pennies on the dollar compared to Boldin and has plenty of years to play and develop.

    These trades happen because basically the team trading the player has no leverage. The other side knows that they want to get rid of the player and they will end up cutting him if they can't get a deal done.

    Boldin's high salary + they are gonna cut him anyway = 6th rd pick.

    49ers need a playmaker outside of vernon davis and crabtree. Boldin is a good addition for this reason.

    We still need a legitimate deep threat though...currently jenkins is the only one we can rely upon.
