I'm 1-0 with the Steelers win, let's see what weirdness the weekend holds.
CITIZEN-TIMES.com: Defense gives Dallas the edge over New Orleans
Defense gives Dallas the edge over New Orleans
Would anyone have thought that we’d be looking at the NFC South standings in December and find the New Orleans Saints on top?
At 8-4, the Saints are two games in front of division rivals Atlanta and Carolina, each standing at 6-6. New Orleans heads into Dallas to take on the 8-4 Cowboys, who are atop the NFC East, also two games ahead of their division rivals - the Giants and the resurgent Philadelphia Eagles.
Dallas QB Tony Romo has his team on a four-game winning streak and currently stands as the NFL’s No. 1 rated passer. On the other side, Saints QB Drew Brees leads the NFL in passing yards with 3,649 and is 7-1 with 13 TDs against NFC opponents this season. Brees is also getting plenty of support from rooking running back Reggie Bush, who had four TDs last Sunday in the Saints’ 34-10 rout of the 49ers.
With both teams fielding a solid offense, this game will come down to the better defense, and that honor goes to … DALLAS.
Indianapolis at Jacksonville: Indianapolis floundered last Sunday in a surprising loss to Tennessee. A last-minute 60-yard field goal from kicker Rod Bironas put the cherry on top of a great day for the Titans. The Colts’ offense will be facing the No. 4 defense in the league when they head into Jacksonville, but it seems with three consecutive wins over the Jags, that Indy has their number. … COLTS.
Atlanta at Tampa Bay: Atlanta QB Michael Vick needs only 40 yards to become the single-season leader for rushing yards by a quarterback. He’ll get that and a win … FALCONS.
Baltimore at Kansas City: After a dismal, losing performance against Cincinnati last weekend, the Ravens head into Arrowhead Stadium to take on the still playoff hopeful Chiefs. Baltimore has something to prove … RAVENS.
