    Seattle vs Atlanta

I'm thinking about taking Seattle in this game depending on how many points they're getting. What do you guys think? What do you think the line will be.

I think this is the year Atlanta wins at home and buries you.

Atlanta has heard about how they can't win in the playoffs for years. They will do everything possible to win and they will. I would pick Atlanta to win that first playoff game over almost anybody at this point and certainly a seattle team that has had trouble on the road all year.

That is a little bit low, I think Atlanta -3 is probably the better play.

Why do you say that? Because the line is too low?

Atlanta's a soft team. They won't like the physical brand of football Seattle plays. Matt Ryan is going to get his hair messed up all game.

You're going to be in a real bad mood come this time next Sunday. You have to actually face a team with a QB this time.

Yep. Assuming home field is about 3 points, the books are saying these teams are equal even though Atlanta was the #1 seed and had a much better record. Hmmmmm........

I was thinking somewhere around Atlanta -4 or -4.5.

I agree Seattle is a bad match up for Atlanta and their poor rush defense but Atlanta is going to win. I'm very sure and I love ATL -3. Take your rookie QB to win 2 road games.

Matt Ryan is good at home, average on the road
Seattle is good at home, average on the road

The Falcons will man up and win at home.

I think I'm going to take Atlanta -2.5...I think it's just too good of a line to pass up

Seattle has been anything but average on the road this year. If they can shut down RG3 and Morris in their own house than they can do the same to Ryan and Turner. Plus teams with first round playoff byes haven't faired very well against good teams.

Seattle matches up great with Atlanta.

Julio and Roddy vs Sherman and Browner should be a great matchup.

    Truth hurts...

    • Home (7-0): 31.8 points, 11.7 points allowed, 358.3 yards gained, 282.6 yards allowed
    • Road (3-5): 21.1 points, 18.5 points allowed, 342.7 yards gained, 323.8 yards allowed

Well they are 4-5 now on the road.....I bet if you go through every NFL teams home record....you'll see that most teams fall far below .500 on the road (just a guess).

Now look at their losses on the road:

Lost in Wk 1 to Arizona by 4
Lost in Wk 4 to St Louis by 6
Lost in Wk 7 to San Fran by 6
Lost in Wk 8 to Detroit by 4
Lost in Wk 12 to Miami by 3

    Such horrible losses.

Haha are you serious? Arizona, St. Louis, Detroit and Miami are the definition of terrible losses!

Oh and the Falcons were 6-2 on the road.

They had 2 road losses of more than 4 points all year. The record on the road may not be impressive but they played those games really close.

Meh, whatever man. Go all-in on on the Falcons if you think they can't lose against the Seahawks.

Definitely don't think they CAN'T lose to the Seahawks. Its the NFL, and the playoffs, anything can happen. I just don't think they will. If the game was in Seattle it'd be 100% a different story.

And I never go all-in on anything.

Hard not to feel really good about the Seahawks teased up to +8 or better. The Falcons are very much a team that runs between the tackles, and the Seahawks are very solid in defending the inside run. Deep, the Seahawks secondary is well built to defend the Atlanta receivers, however Gonzalez will be tough underneath. Seattle has a way of getting to pocket passers that aren't that mobile from the pocket, and Matt Ryan definitely likes to stay at home.

I think at this point, anyone that's still using "Seattle can't win on the road" as a justification for playing against them, you need to re-evaluate your gameplan. It ain't true...

Not sure if this was directed at me or not, but I never said they cant win on the road. I said they were below average.

Ok 104-145 was the record of all road teams this year (including playoffs and not counting the tie between STL/SF). That is a winning percentage of 41% on the road. Counting today's game, the Seahawks went 4-5 on the road, a winning percentage of 45%. You are incorrect in your statement, and I rest my case. They are in fact, an above average road team.

Seahawks secondary vs Atl's WR's is a great matchup. Atlanta struggles to get a pass rush and Russ should be able to make plays against them. Just gotta avoid throwing interceptions w/ their dynamic safety duo lurking
