That's a great suspension. Ed Reed is a great player but he is absolutely also a headhunter. Nearly decapitated Deion Branch, and it wasn't one of those accidental ones either.
I don't get this suspension at all. Seems very arbitrary. Even the guys on the MNF pregame were saying what I was thinking - I don't think of Ed Reed as a 'head hunter', like say, James Harrison. It sets a dangerous precedent... A lot of guys are going to be losing game checks that probably shouldn't.
NFL is run by a bunch of fags--- people are going to get hurt and players should be hitting each other as hard as possible. Maybe Goddell will make they wear skirts and play f\*g I mean flag football. He fines the shit out of the two toughest hard hitting teams the steelers and ravens.
You might not think twice about gunning for the head if there's only a chance of a yellow flag - but getting hit in the wallet should vastly reduce the 'intentional' collisions. Somebody needs to be the scapegoat unfortunately.
I do like the precautions taken now with respect to concussions. Players can't just say I'm OK and get back in the game now, for their own good.
it was ridiculous. it was so obviously unintentional, the receiver lowered his head right into it. the hit on branch wasn't intentional either, they shook hands afterwards. branch even said it was ridiculous. the nfl is just getting softer every year.
