He guys, I get bored betting the same way day after day, so I'm going to start something different. I'm going to take $100 and try to turn it into $1,000 by betting on NCAA and NFL games that are at least -350 favorites. I will start with $100, bet the full hundred, and if/when that bet wins, I will then use that full amount on the next bet. I will keep track of all bets placed, the money on the line, and the money won/lost. If/when I lose, I will start over and try to do it again.

With that said, here is the first play:

As a Browns fan, I cannot see the Browns keeping pace/competitiveness with the Ravens for a full half in Baltimore. The Ravens obviously have way too many weapons on offense, their defense is still that shut-down unit they always have been, and the Browns are missing their best defensive player in Joe Haden due to suspension. Look for the Ravens to start the game blazing and not look back.

The Ravens looked slower than they usually do, especially a weak browns team, but they still won the first half despite a red zone interception and a botched extra point. More plays will come this weekend with a lot of football on the board.

I know I said I was going to stick to football, but this game intrigued me tonight (since there is no football until tomorrow other than Hawaii). In their past 6 matchups, the Lynx have taken the first half 5 times, outscoring the Storm by an average margin of around 13 points. In their past 5 games at home in this matchup, the Lynx have taken all 5 first halves. With that said, Maya Moore will carry this team to a first half victory tonight.

There were only a few games to pick from when looking at the first group of games being played, but I liked this one. Northwestern is looking to go 5-0 and remain one of the only undefeated Big 10 teams left in the conference. Last year, which was also at home for the Wildcats, Northwestern won by 21 points, and they are considered a better team this year. I can see NU winning by a couple touchdowns in this game. The Wildcats ran all over the Hoosiers with over 300 yards rushing and 300 yards passing. All 5 of the Wildcats touchdowns were rushing ones, and they carried Northwestern to a 16-point margin of victory. Next play is coming up next.

South Florida is a very mediocre team in a very mediocre conference, and the Seminoles look virtually unstoppable thus far in the season. This is a home game for the Bulls, but that shouldn't matter, as the Bulls have only beaten Chattanooga in their season opener by only 21 points, and lost to Rutgers in their third game of the season (where they only scored 6 points in the first half and 13 in the entire game). Florida State is far better than Rutgers, so look for the Noles to come out strong. Good luck boys.

Little closer than I was hoping and expected, but a win nonetheless. South Florida impressed me tonight, but the Seminoles were too much. EJ Manuel is a boss and their defense is underrated. The Ducks came out and scored 20 first quarter points and looked dominate as usual. If it wasn't for a late kickoff return down the Ducks 6 yard-line, they would have won the quarter by 17, but I'll take an 11 point win any day (a win is a win is a win, right?) The juice was a little higher than I wanted, but there is no way Oregon wins by less than 4 and I told myself I would take this bet if the game was within 10. This Washington State team is decent, but they should not be able to hang around the Ducks for a whole game. Houston looks like a potential Super Bowl contender this year with one of the best offenses AND defenses in the AFC. Chris Johnson still blows a chub, and should continue to be ineffective for the Titan offense. JJ Watt will be all over Locker this game, so I see the Texans forcing a few turnovers since they will be forced to throw the ball a lot. Not only are the Trojans exponentially more talented than the Utes, but they have had a week off to prepare, and Matt Barkley will come out slinging. The Utes have lost to Arizona State and Utah State, 2 fairly poor teams, and USC has only lost to Stanford, obviously a great team. I think the Trojans win by a few touches here, so winning straight up seems like a great bet to me.

Yea, well honestly the vast majority of -350 or higher plays are "safe", but I like to make sure I pick the best of them, because some are actually better than some others. Like tomorrow, the Central Florida/East Carolina game is at -450 or so, but that matchup is closer than that number shows, so I'm going with the USC bet instead.
