some interesting comments, tweets, articles, & vids on replacement refs & MNF fiasco

These are comments, tweets, vids, etc that I collected since Last night's game. Some are informational & some are just hilarious. This has been the most talked about subject that I've seen in some time.

in order of the most recent I've seen to the first ones:

replacement ref video: Call it Maybe - funny as hell

Pete Carroll video: The 12th Man was friggin awesome
Pete Carroll's team won was ruled to be the winner in last night's game.
He was so happy this morning that he filmed this short clip for the fans.

With so much focus on the refereeing, you think the real refs are salivating to come back? Every call will be scrutinized more than average.

Why dont the refs just come to my house and (BLEEP) me up the (BLEEP)? Trick question. These f*ck faces couldn't get that right either.

If this ending doesn't lead to the real officials being brought back, Gary Bettman could travel the country and physically shit on every NHL fan and still not look as terrible as Goodell. Ew.

I feel like we've been playing Russian Roulette with the replacement refs. I think we can now say the Packers are Christopher Walken.

I read somewhere that the players are prohibited by their CBA from doing much about the replacement refs, but how about this? What if on the very first snap from scrimmage, in every game on a given Sunday, both teams line up arm-in-arm and face the press box as a protest. The offense would take a delay of game penalty and then the defense would purposely line up offside on the next play. At the end, no extra time has come off the clock and it's still 1st-and-10, so the game is unaffected, but that would be a pretty difficult thing for the league to ignore. Of course, they may want to do it on Tampa's bye week since I don't trust Schiano to live up to his end of the bargain.

After watching the ending of Seahawks-Packers, isn't any sort of ending plausible now with the replacement refs? Who's to say next week in the Pats-Bills game, Brady throws a game winning TD with no time left … only then Bridget Moynihan rushes the field and tackles Brady, leading the refs to flag Brady with a 15 yard personal foul and the TD is called back. Then the personal foul is challenged as part of a scoring play and is reversed on replay … but wait for it … the personal foul is immediately upheld by another replacement ref who runs out of the tunnel wearing a Bernard Pollard mask?!?!?! You'd have to at least entertain this exact possibility in today's replacement ref NFL, am I right?

Combine that with the rampant headshots that sent DHB to the hospital and a piece of Schaub's ear to the moon, and you have a recipe for absolute total chaos. Clearly, it's just a matter of time until we discover that Goodell and Bettman were separated at birth.

I just felt as if after that call the refs should've grabbed Aaron Rodgers near the fifty, clubbed him with an object (most likely a chair, the belt he always has on him, super bowl trophy...ect), ripped his pads off and proceded to stomp him and spary NWO on his chest as he lays comatose (kind of like this) also love this for the simple fact that it may cause us to engage in some good old fashioned Eff You football or we may inherit the no respect card.

ESPN's 90-minute SportsCenter that followed MNF last night cracked a 5 rating. Highest rated SC in 17 years. Those are crisis ratings!

3 basic points: 1) Lots of bad calls went both ways last night, not just on the final play of the game 2) Green Bay was not the 'right side' for bettors; a classic NFL 'coin-flip' type game. Pack scored 12 & need refs help to get that many! 3) The regular refs suck too! How many controversial decisions have we seen in the NFL in recent years? Hundreds? Thousands? If we weren’t bitching about the replacement refs, we’d be bitching about the regular refs…..exactly what we’ll do when lockout is resolved.

Jeff Sherman, assistant director of the race and sportsbook at the Las Vegas Hilton on what the controversial touchdown meant to their bottom line: It was a "6-figure" swing in favor of our book, "85% of bets were on the Packers." Sherman went on to describe the scene at the LVH SuperBook as; "chaotic disbelief." Later on, Sherman says he estimates that the game shifted $15 million in Nevada alone.

9 figure swing on a MNF backdoor cover? Tainted Touchception has everyone in Vegas talking

Question: Is anyone REALLY going to stop watching and/or wagering on #NFL until real refs come back?

Source: "Although the US brand is getting all the credit, they didn't refund anything. The Global book only refunded a handful of bets."

Sportsbook is refunding bets to NON US players ONLY. So, while it "looks great," it isn't. Overwhelming majority of bets are from US players

Talked with Vegas and offshore sportsbooks this morning. Here's a breakdown on how much that call cost Packers bettors
    http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Blown-call-costs-Packers-bettors-close-to-200-million.html

I can't remember a time when I have enjoyed the nfl as much #isupportgoddell #iwantreplacementrefsinsuperbowl"

ie, Pgh vs. Oak, Immaculate Reception. Don't make the right call, just 1 that won't get us killed?”

Jimmy Vaccaro@JimmyVaccaro If this would have happened in the 49ers-Vikings game where there was a 9:1 ticket count, it would have been crazier. This was more like 2:1

#Seahawks' win was bad for #NFL, but huge for sportsbooks. Public finished the week 1-6 ATS and now 6-15 on the year.

USA Today's @DannySheridan1 thinks $1 BILLION in bets changed hands

A blown call against a home team will result in a riot. Dead serious.

Wasn't it the Seahawks screwed by REGULAR refs in a SUPER BOWL not so long ago

RT @ProFootballTalk: Jerry Jones on Monday night debacle: "I didn't see it"---->neither did the refs that he hired

Roger Goodell is rapidly closing in on Garry Bettman for the Worst Commissioner Award. I expect a Ferdinand-Alysheba type finish.

Bill Simmons@sportsguy33 Trending right now in order (not making this up): Roger Goodell; Jerry Jones; Tate; NFL; Iran.

Ace the zebra's should of been wearing the ski masks with that MNF ending!!

2124502027 is Roger godells number.I had no business cashing 1500 on Seattle plus 3.5.these refs are horrible

Updating our last post, it appears that http://sportsbook.com will not be issuing refunds on the Green Bay game despite earlier reports.

If NFL fines every player who's taking a dump on the officiating via sort sort of media this AM, then tosses it into old Ref 401K - Settled!

The home underdog subset went 5-3 ATS this weekend (5-2-1 if you got Dolphins +3) and are 13-6 ATS (68.4%) overall

wonder if people care as much a/b the teacher's unions in their states as they do a/b the #NFL referees' union? Go 'merica!

What NFL is doing with refs is normal in corporate America and NFL has become very corpoprate with corporate execs being hired. In corporate America, normal to end pension plans and if workers object, lock them out and hire replacements.

If you're holding a SEA ticket I would take that to the window ASAP, and those with GB tickets go get them out of the trash... Just in case

The @Packers - @Seahawks ending resulted in a 6-Figure swing favoring the @LVSuperBook with 85% of bets on Green Bay.

Several sportsbook veterans estimate last night's blown call swung $150 to $250 million worldwide

Sickening when an online gambling site has more integrity than the National Football League

did a piece this morn est $150M. More than 75% of bets were on Pack.

Last night's controversial TD call shifted an estimated $150 million to $250 million in bets
    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/84...-150-250m-bets

If I was a Green Bay offensive linemen, I would also want everyone talking about the refs after getting worked all night long.

After three games, Aaron Rodgers is 19th in the NFL in passing; just ahead of Sanchez & Ponder. Eli/Flacco top 2

A lockout is a 2 way street. If the real refs wanted to be paid like the players, would you still blame the NFL for the replacement refs?

BREAKING - JaMarcus Russell eyeing return to NFL after discovering games can be won by throwing interceptions http://twitter.yfrog.com/oevljedtj

Next screenshot/GIF to go viral should be John Clayton's ponytail being visible when not taping his "segment" in his room at mom's house

John Clayton is on set at the stadium in a T-shirt right now. This night keeps getting better.

Here's an article about that Buffalo/New England game in '98 in which it states "officiating is at an all time low" lol http://www.billsdaily.com/articles/1998/nep2.html

On today's BS Report: we discussed a reader's idea of Romney offering refs 50 mill to come back (as an election ploy).

We will neither stop watching nor betting on the NFL. Those that say otherwise, are probably lying (or just lost a 10 teamer on Green Bay)

Well, I'd wondered what Twitter would have looked like during the Bush v. Gore decision.

What's worse is the league will have the nerve to discipline the Packers for criticizing the refs after this...

Controversial ending will bury one fact for at least one more week: #Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is not very good.

Replacement Ref@RepIacementRef Yeah, I have Golden Tate on my fantasy team ... So what?

Obama or Romney could win Wisconsin by stepping into the NFL ref lockout tomorrow.

Even Scott Walker is pro-union at this moment.

Russell Wilson became the first QB in history to throw a game-winning interception.

Interesting comment by Aaron Rogers - On the failed 2pt conversion the refs had the kicking ball in play and it messed him up his grip

Steve Young meltdown coming in 3... 2... 1...

Seattle moves to 18-8 on MNF. The 69% win rate is the best in the NFL.

I wish one of these reporters would ask Aaron Rodgers what he thought about those bogus three flags that helped em score on their last drive

The Seahawks are 6-2 ATS in last 8 as home underdogs including 6-0 ATS as home dogs of 3.0 points or more.

Aaron Rogers again had under 7 yards per attempt. Now occurred in 5 of his last 6 games. Green Bay are 1-4 head to head in these games.

"Worst call to end a game I've ever seen in my life." - 1972 Olympic basketball team

Look at it this way: Roger Goodell's troubles are making Gary Bettman's look minor.

Anyone who thinks this is gambling related conspiracy is misguided. If Seahawk "boosters" or Goodell had +4, Carroll would have kicked a FG

League trying to save $ by not paying pensions for real refs, but will be stuck paying witness protection for life for all replacement refs.

TJ Lang@TJLang70 Got ****** by the refs.. Embarrassing. Thanks nfl

I feel bad for the down and out bettors who put their last dollar on the Packers. Next step is suicide. Nice going, Goodell.

Controversy drives ratings right? RT @EastCoastGamblr ...meanwhile NFL ratings are through the roof and none of you will stop watching.

HIghway Robbery in Sea.....reminds me of a Depaul/DAYTON game 25 years ago, Dayton made winning shot 2 seconds after final buzzer.

As we like to say here in Vegas, "Nice and easy, never in doubt." I'll take a lucky, poorly officiated win any time I can get it

Roger Goodell won't apologize anytime soon. He's too busy tallying up the fines for players & coaches and their tweets.

Mike McCarthy should have ran back out on the field naked from the waist down.

Reminds me of when the fake ref gave the 2 count to Hogan, gave Andre the Giant the title, who gave it to the million dollar man.

Well, now you have a response when Seahawks fans in your life complain about Super Bowl officials.

At that point, the ref under the hood thought-I will either be murdered by 12th man on way 2 car, or I'll let the call stand. Easy decision.

First NE on Sunday Night, then GB on Monday Night - 2 premier ROAD teams getting JOBBED. So, there's no home field bias, huh?

And... Here's the officiating apocalypse that was 3 weeks coming.

Every play they run the ball here is -EV. Throw it: either catch or PI, roll the dice on the replacements...

We've got our key PI call to favor the home team late in the game, now this game is complete.

    If sacked like that J
ay Cutler would have body slammed his right tackle and suplexed his right guard twice already.

Pretty sure any book that wants to set a prop for total accepted penalties in NFL primetime football needs to start at 23.5 minimum.

It all goes back to the fact that only losing bettors are in GA...if you're losing on MNF, back off...if winning, carry on!

"We can't sell a ticket on the Seahawks tonight"

More ViewFromVegas of #NFL...underdogs are now 29-18-1 (61.7%) against the spread with 22 outright upsets...unders 25-22-1

The @Seahawks' are 38-29 (57%) against the spread AT HOME since changing the stadium name to Qwest Field on June 23rd, 2004.
