Does anybody else think that was a touchdown?

I think regardless of what the announcers were saying, that was a contested possession. Jennings gets two hands on it, but I don't think you can say he has "control" while Golden Tate has his hand on it as well. By the time they hit the ground, they were locked up.

If it wasn't the last play of the game and something like that happened on the sideline, they'd just say "oh well" and move on. I just don't think these announcers are going to miss the one and only time they're allowed to completely excoriate officials with the replacements in.

Full disclosure: I was on Seattle small. If I feel like I was on the right side, I don't care that much about the results. If I win on BS, I admit it, since I've lost on BS my share (like any bettor).

It can't be simultaneous possession when the defender clearly came down and landed with two hands on the ball, at least according to Tirico's interpretation of the rule. I haven't read the rule in its entirety.

It's also fitting that one ref singled INT/touchback and another TD, and they were standing 2 feet apart.

Tate had two hands on the ball the whole time imo. Closer than most making it seem. Still expect GB to get the int when they land as they do with Jennings craddling ball against body.

I somewhat agree. If it was called an int and reviewed they probably come back and say "ruling on the field stands" instead of confirmed.

Lol @ Seattle backer saying it was a TD. You all need to get off the BS. Yes your bet cashed but no need to be blind to what really happened.

The defender caught the ball at its highest point. So Jennings had possession going to the ground. It doesn't make it a TD because Tate put his hands on the ball.

The officials blew it, and it is making the NFL look like clowns. I can't believe they are letting their product get tarnished like this.

I'm an attorney, I can usually argue both sides, but I can't do it here. That's an INT. And I had Seattle ML.

Clearly a int if you cannot see that then you have alot to learn! Even if you contest the catch then there is no way to contest the shove in the back that was not called.

One thing though that's why they tell defenders to KNOCK THE BALL DOWN. Can't catch it when it hits the ground.

That did not happen. One ref signaled to stop the clock, the other signaled a TD. No signal for an INT at all.

I was on Seattle+3 and feel there's no way it was a touchdown... the way I see it he didn't have possession at the same time. I'm happy this happened though because I want the replacement refs gone, this is one step further

If you interpret possession of the ball while your arms are around the other person's body, while he has the ball cradled to his body, so that you can get your hands on it, then it was absolutely possession and a TD. GB got jobbed.

I have no dog in this fight, no money on either side.

Don't the officials signal to stop the clock, before signaling a touchback?
