The best 6 point teaser is teasing RIGHT ACROSS ZERO with a -3.5 or -4 point favorite and making that team a +2 or +2.5 point dog. It's hit 10% more than taking a -2.5 or -3 point favorite and making them a +3 or +3.5 point dog. Typically, you would think "why would I want to tease to +2.5? Wouldn't I want to make sure it was at +3? And you would think so, but based on historical lines, you would be wrong.

Game can't end on a tie in college, there's like 2 ties every 5 years in pros.
So you by teasing across zero from 1.5 to 4.5 your only numbers are a 1 point win, or a 1, 2, 3, or 4 point loss.

A lot less than that. Since 1997, there have only been two ties. Two ties in 13 seasons (1998-2010).

I'd say 1 tie every 5 years would be a more reasonable estimate.

Teasers are simple. You need to get the maximum value you can for your points. If you tease across zero, or even down to zero, you're hurting yourself. +.5 and -.5 and 0 are worthless.

Don't tease -1.5 across 0. Do consider teasing +1.5 to +2.5 up to +7.5 to +8.5. There is very little difference between 1 or 2 point favorites or dogs. But there is a very big difference getting your teased leg at +8.5 instead of +4.5.

The numbers simply don't pan out teasing -1.5 to +4.5. Ever!
