Arizona -3 vs the Terrible Raiders.. Why does anyone like the Raiders?

Help me understand the reasoning on taking the Raiders here?

O.K The Cards are 1-5 but are they really a 1-5 team?

They should of defeated the Rams
    They almost defeated the Chiefs
    They almost defeated the Bears

The Raiders are definitely the worst team in football.. Somebody is obviously betting the Raiders.. Why?

    Help me understand, Thanks...

Game five or later winless home teams are 9-1 ATS the past 4 years.

    IMGV,

I'm reminded of what Bill Parcells says, "You are what your record says you are". The Cards are 1-5.

Both teams are so flawed that it's hard to put money on either one with any conviction.

I agree with josebla89, if you want to bet the Cards, bet the first half.

This Raiders team is just that bad.

You gotta remember how many stupid penalties this team makes when there either in the red zone, or even close to it. I mean, go back and look at the tapes and you will clearly see just how many holding, and false start calls they commited on anything from the 35 yard line or closer.

    Dan

It is so obvious Art Shell has no control over his team its nuts. Art Shell just stands around like a dummy anyway he seems like a scarecrow coach. This team is in such disarray I am going to fade them til they win.. Which might be never..

IMG, Not only does Shell not have control of this team, the other coaches don't either. There whole coaching staff is made up of guys that haven't coached in the NFL for about 5 years on average. Hell, even one coach they have right now was working outside of football on those years, and he owns a bed and breakfast bussiness.

When Denny Green was at Minny he was unbeatable when he had the bye week to work with.

In a sense this is the opposite -- a travel week off of a Monday night game -- but it's also a drill down and focus week for them, obviously. If there were any rational explanation behind his post-bye-week success it may involve the same sort of things that are in play now.

It's a something-to-prove, us-against-the-world kind of game for the Cards. And against some stiffs to boot.

Still, what a f*n mess on the O-line.

Well, you have to figure it's going to be the same system. (run and gun) .. Even with Lienart being a rookie running this offense, I feel he will play like a season vet against the "Faiders". I feel the "Faiders" will shoot themselves in the foot again and again with stupid penalties, which will only help the Cardinals even more.

now lets take the books for what they're worth.

I was reading some material and their "best bet" for the weekend was Oakland +3.5 in a 19-16 final score. I think like that is an appropriate total, but definitely feel like I am on the right side of this game.

I think the score will be higher than that..

    ARIZ 31
    Oak 20

Over 40 is a solid wager as well IMO.. Thoughts primo dan anyone?

For some reason, I can't see OAK putting 20 points on the score board. But we will see....

I couldn't count on the Faiders scoring that many points at all bro. I'm thinking that if this game goes over, it will be via a Cardinals blowout of 45-10 range.

i think you would be way better off taking the over now that i think about it IMG, neither defense is all that good and both teams will put up the points. Dont be fooled by the cards good defensive play at home against the bears. Anyone would have a chip on their shoulder being underdogs like they were.

the raiders wont be able to hold up their end of the deal,
    both their offense/defense sucks.

    only play possible=fade OAK

Cards collapse on Monday (and kc prior) made them great value in this game IMO. I understand the reasoning behind betting them first half only, but I remember Oak coming out strong against Browns only to blow game in 4th. Az will not turn conservative in 2nd half like they did against KC/Chi, look for them to keep on putting air under the ball...Green running out of people to fire...

caveat: Of the five teams to play the Bears this season, not one has gone on to cover the spread the following week. Only the Seattle Seahawks managed a straight up win. That was after a bye week when they squeaked over Rams...

I think the Raiders just got called for another offsides against the Broncos...

As bad as they may be, I think Oakland +3 is the right play here. Arizona will probably be uninspired after blowing the game on monday. Oakland moved the ball in Denver, the penalties and turnovers killed them. They should probably be able to stay onsides a little better at home.

I took the raiders. I like the number one pass defense against a rookie quarterback with his main target not playing. The raiders are at home and the Cardinals horrible rush game will make them terribly one sided.

The fact that the Raiders has given up the least yards passing is extremely misleading.

if i had to make a pick in this game it would be the raiders even though they are terrible

leinart cannot escape that he is a rookie and somewhere along the line he is gonna get schooled

    the raiders D is decent

never know when moss will break one even though the off line is a joke and the qb ain't far behind

    raiders are at home

ARIZ off MNF vs tough CHI game, psychological and physical
letdown, yes, and Moss long pass . . . OAK def adequate,
I think the story here is can OAK keep penalties down as I'm
sure Shell's trying to get them to . . . I guess I just don't see it as a unit worth playing but I'll be interested in the outcome.

It doesn't matter WHO they play, its "terrifying" to lay points on the road anytime with Arizona, plain and simple. Especially after that Monday debacle which I'm sure is still on their minds. That being said, I would lay off this one - no way I could take the Raiders either...
