AFC East
Jets with a deep threat and a pass rush with 4 linemen. +Tebow*
Patriots shifting their focus back to Defense and run yet can still pass with the best of them. Gronk unstoppable in Red Zone. AFC North
Ravens with Flacco finally providing a Pass Game in year 5 as well as a no huddle offense being taught to him by Peytons coach from the past several years.
Steelers are still the Steelers.
Bengals may not be elite but still run, pass, play D. AFC South
Texans made it deep in the playoffs last year even with major injuries.
Jaguars have Mularkey complementing the defense and run game with assistance to Gabbert the way he helped Matt Ryan earlier in his career. Blackmon doesn't hurt either. AFC West
Broncos may be the class of the AFC if they don't relax on their elite D with their elite Defensive coaches just because they have a hall of famer running the offense.
Chargers have a new and much improved D. Mathews is a wildcard but Brinkley showed good things. Continuity between Rivers and Turner continues.
Chiefs have a very good defense if their corners dont go down when they play elite passing teams. Lots of weapons on offense too.
NFC has some intriguing talent in Vick, RGIII, Newton, etc. but I only really see the Packers and 49ers as legitimate contenders. Are all of these AFC teams contenders? Maybe not, but they could all win a game or two when it counts. It will be very interesting to see what it takes to snag a wildcard slot and which teams are left out.
If I had to guess, I'd say Patriots/Jets and Chargers but it could get very competitive. Especially when the postseason begins.
