Week 1 home dogs
Titans +5.5 vs Patriots
Cleveland +10 vs Eagles
Kansas City +2.5 vs Atlanta
Tampa +1.5 vs Carolina
Arizona +2.5 vs Seattle
History says that these home dogs go 3-2.
Just thinking out loud - look at the QB disparity
2nd year QB < Tom Brady
rookie QB < Vick
Matt Cassell < Matt Ryan
Freeman < Newton
Kolb vs a rookie qb ???
Betting percentages
Pats 74%
Eagles 62%
Atlanta 66%
Carolina 70%
Seattle 67%
In every instance I'd take the road favorite head coach EXCEPT I like Wisenhunt better than Pete C.
Other observations
Titans defense is better than the Pats defense
Pats haven't been as good on the road the past few years
Eagles were underachievers last year - do they think they can just show up and win?
Double digit dogs at home win at a very good clip, don't forget the backdoor covers.
Vick has about a 25% chance of getting knocked out of every game this year.
KC is a very tough place to play, Falcons are not nearly as good on the road
Seattle is laying points starting a rookie on the road
Jeff Fisher became coach of the Rams because he liked Bradford as a franchise QB but he strongly considered the Bucs because he said that the team was a lot more talented than their record and that they'd be easier to improve than other teams. Raheem Morris was horrible head coach - so bad you only see one that bad a few times per decade.
