Question about a Football Prop bet

I understand that if you bet on a QB he must Start or the bet will be cancelled. And if you bet on a Receiver he generally just has to play in the game at some point and your bet will stand. But what about the Running Backs? If a Running Back doesn't start will your bet still stand if he plays in the game at some point?

The reason why I am asking is because in the Georgia Tech vs Virginia Tech game on Monday night I bet on David Sims to have over 53.5 yards Rushing. Well, he wasn't put in the game until the 3rd quarter. Had I known that he was not going to play until the 3rd quarter I never would have made the bet. Needless to say he rushed for less than 53.5 yards and my bet was graded as a loss. My question is, do I have a case in that this bet should have been cancelled? Or, is the fact that he played in the game at some point good enough for the bet to stand? Thanks for any and all help or advice.
