    If you hate money go ahead and bet lots of NFL games

    Talking to this dude at the casino that takes some bets on the games. I asked him if anyone beats the NFL. He laughed and said that in his entire history of any player that made more than 40 bets on NFL games during a season NEVER once finished "+" money.

    Yeah, there might be the occasional weather related game you can bet under or some spot plays that might be worth while, but if your betting 3+ plays each and every week you stand no chance.

    There is an underlying truth to your post, Emily, and it's that NFL sides/ML's are usually the sharpest #'s on the board, therefore making it the hardest to beat.

    I think you are hitting on a true underlying thing here, Emily, NFL linesmakers spend the most time on setting these lines, and thus they are the hardest to beat/sharpest.

    That being said, I wouldn't believe that guy's word or he only takes bets from squares

    There are tons of people that finish +money on NFL. I for one, had my best season last year including a 7 team parlay that was something like 100 to win $7900.

    I'm sure he was trying to act like a big timer that takes everyones money...I wish I knew him so I could try to break him.

    Of course if you hit a +7900 play you're likely to have your best season ever but I'd bet you my paid off house you cant hit another bet with those odds this year. Congrats but the NFL is a losing bet.

    I'm pretty sure I'll never hit anything like that again. People go their whole lives without hitting a 5 teamer.

    Even without the parlay I would have been up for the season...I was just trying to say that it's not impossible to win in the NFL.

    I agree NFL lines are sharp for the simple reason that so much action is on the games and, therefore, Vegas spends more time on them.

    Pick a sport and well over 90 percent of bettors lose. Doesn't matter what the sport is. The Jamaican bobsled team can go against Germany in the winter Olympics and there will be some square out there somewhere who'll manage to fukk up his wager and lose.

    However, to claim that EVERYone loses long term in NFL (or any other sport) is nonsense.
