I am beginning Betting need Tips and rules (NFL)

So now that the NFL season is about to begin I have decided fantasy football wasn't enough and i want to begin betting on the games so i have few questions:

    1. I know everyone is different but whats your personal favorite book for NFL? I was planning on going with 5 dimes....

    2. Do they just payout with a check that i can cash in my bank and do i actually have to claim it on taxes or whatever even if its a small amount?

    3. What are some terms i need to know? I know what parlay, + and -, and over/under is but thats about it...

    4. Does 5dimes or any book have player stat or specific type bets like super bowl champion....

Also any tips for getting bonus on 5dimes I have seen the reduced tip btw.

Thanks. This might be the wrong forum sorry if so.

Use 5Dimes, don't chase losses, straight bet, and don't bet on the Titans

use online resources to learn all the different ways you can lay action and for betting terms. 1 google search and 30 minutes of reading and you'll be ready to deposit.

5dimes will fed ex you a check, but it's pricey. Have them send you a West. Union.

My personal rules on sports gambling:

    1. Bankroll money management. Kelly Criterion. You should only be betting 1% to 10% of your total bankroll.
    2. Do your research by watching game footage, finding useful trends and useful statistics.
    3. Never bet on heavily juiced lines. Like a line at -1000 for example.
    4. Never bet on heavily valued lines. Like a terrible team at 100 to 1 odds to win championship.
    5. Teams with home field/court advantage tend to win games.
    6. Be a strategic gambler by picking your spots and wait for the right opportunity. Never be an impulsive gambler by betting for the action, just because it feels good or it's your favorite team. Patience is virtue.
    7. Stay emotionless all the time. Bet like a robot. There's no place for emotions in this profession.

    8. Parlays should be no longer than 2 teams, the bigger the parlay is, the bigger the House Edge. Research and Secure your first pick before moving on to your second pick.
. Teasers should never pass through the zero.

    10. Never bet on double digit road favorites. You will lose in the long run.
    11. Always make your bet near game time. Players could get injured during the week before game time.
    12. Sportsbook have an edge on the NFL than the NCAAF because they can focus on the 32 NFL teams but cannot focus on the hundreds of NCAAF teams.
    13. Never deposit money for sportsbook bonus money that requires rollover. You are immediately juiced before you even placed your first bet.
    14. Never bet on preseason games on any sport. Predicting a 2nd string and 3rd string team is stupid.
    15. If you are extremely impulsive, arrogant and biased. The best advice is to "Don't Gamble".
    16. Never gamble if you are drunk, sleepy, hungry, depressed or angry.

pman 2013 my first point is don't start betting because 99.9999 gambler's lose that's a fact there is about a few gambler's in the world that can make a living at betting on sport's. don't let anyone tell you it's not the truth because it's 100 percent fact case closed. I have been betting football for 32 year's a lot of gambler's know who I am mostly at CAPPING THE GAME . or COVER'S or PRE GAME .i'm not going to bragg but if you really want to make money this year go to CAPPING THE GAME. that's my home base and read my profile everything that you read is 100 percent fact in them 32 year's + year's i'm 28-4 in winning year's 100 percent fact last year I made the top 10 at WAGER TRACKER if your asking yourself I was lucky and not knowing anything about hockey again this year I won the WAGER TRACKER contest came in at number 1 at WAGER TRACKER . at COVER'S they have me as 1 of there top cappers out of 30.000+ I have so much more to say but like I said go to CAPPING THE GAME the reason this is my last year of posting because I did promise my wife/kids.and my health is not the best the money my family does not need i'm just trying to help others if I can but again it's your money gl my friend to the bank again even on sunday's it will be open for us

learn how to make your own spreads using power rankings points. Look at the games without the spreads, i.e. simply the matchups - find the certain matchups you like - figure out what the fair spread should be based on the power rankings - and then go look at what they are offering. This type of objective stance really helps.

Also, the power rankings you are using. I developed my own last year, but those don't get worked out till at least week 4. There are very good ones for both NCAAFB and NFL. Especially NFL.

Learning how to make your own lines is the single most valuable thing I have ever learned. Also, note that there are many other ways to figure out your own lines - power rankings being the simplest.

Also, do not limit yourself to only NFL. NFL lines are extraordinarily sharp. There is value every week in college that cannot be found in the NFL!

I played at Bodog/Bovada last year, cashed out and going to play at 5Dimes this season, lines and options are so much better. Use 5Dimes, most of the people on this forum have an account there and they pay out, you don't have to worry about getting stiffed. If you want an example of that, Vyomguy won $250,000 last year on a 25 team open parlay and 5Dimes paid out. Here is a link to that thread and my post if you want to read it, I bumped it the other day and made a post to summarize everything since the thread is so huge,

For depositing to 5Dimes you can use a CC, no fees or anything. Once you create an account you have to go to live chat though and ask them to enable CC's as a deposit option or you won't see it. The thing is though, once you use a CC to deposit you will have to "verify" your account if you ever try to withdrawal money from it. You have to send in scanned documents and stuff so as long as you have a scanner you're fine.

But I'm going to use the "person to person" option when I go to deposit into my 5Dimes account. If you send $250 or more they cover the fees, I'm probably just gonna go to Walmart and use the m0ney gram option at the ATM. You have to use cash though, don't charge the amount you want to send to a debit or CC.

If I ever cash out I can just request the same option and they will send the money via m0ney gram and I can pick up the cash, don't have to worry about receiving a check in the mail and trying to deposit it to my bank account and find out it bounces. Straight cash homey!

Go to the 5dimes.eu website and read all the FAQs and everything else you can click on, that is what I did, spend 30 minutes on there reading through stuff.

I would say pick between 10-12 games a week you like make you're own lines and in those 10-12 games if you see differences in you're lines bet them no more than 5-6 straight bets and bankroll management

Don't cash checks... It leaves a paper trail plus plus they take up to a month to clear and could bounce even down the road.. p2p is best option

This! During heavy betting season, this saves ~$50 a day. That is real $$ and adds up very quickly.

The only drawback is you sometimes miss huge value in the lines early. However, reduced juice for US guys pays the bills.
