    JJ I was looking at the same thing til I ran some mock plays to see how much the payouts are...and let me tell you...its not worth the risk IMO!!!

    3 teamer only paid $400 risking $250....why sweat out 3 games when you can pick 1 good dog (look at the Ravens tonight) and have damn near the same payout???

    The reason they're not worth trying (5dimes would be your best bet I believe) is because nearly all preseason lines are 3 or less.

    preseason offers excellent opportunities, i'll agree with that

    i just don't think teasers are the way to play it, over the long run in the preseason you are better off straight up or selling points instead of buying them imho (because some of the lines are so far off)

    Scared of betting pre-season because they don't know what coaches are going to do but prefer to wait until the regular season which has the sharpest lines of any American sport.

    i always get criticized by friends and family for placing large preseason wagers. i say "so you'd rather bet a coin flip than something you think you have a 85% chance of winning??"

    100% Agree with this statement.....I just don't agree with doing teasers during preseason because the line is already so low....most shops have all the lines at 2.5 or lower....so knowing this I would just play straight up or do a 2-3 team parlay if you don't mind sweating out games plus you'll get a better payout than teasers

    This is also my way of thinking... Same reason i bet more college football games than NFl regular season.. College has so many games and so many teams you can always find a line to jump on. But as far as having an edge over your book..... preseason great way to build small bankroll

    Fade big name teams with big name QBs that will only play 2 minutes

    Pump teams with rookies that will be given more playing time and have something to prove

    LMAO at the guys who always say the same thing about preseason football...YOU KNOW WHAT THE COACHES ARE GOING TO DO> Well guess what you know what the coaches are doing in the regular season to...ALWAYS trying to win. But people still cant beat the spread. All the games where one guy is supposedly trying and the other guy isnt, feel free to go look them up, I would say the percentages are right around 50/50 in terms of the team 'trying' covering versus a team 'not trying'. So where is the value there? I know I know guys make millions betting the pre season. if that were the case if they had brains they would ONLY bet the pre season and not bother with the regular season which is apparently too hard and has the 'sharpest' lines ever thought of.

    Bottom line as a whole all football is a sucker bet. Mostly because of the scoring system. NCAA not so much as the spreads are generally large enough to negate a weird score or even two. But not in the NFL.

    I just like the football season staring because then that opens up MLB to better values as it takes less money to move a line and it opens up more shots at buying back at better numbers.

    But every year it is the same thing people forget how much they lost the year before and go into the new NFL season thinking things will be different. That is the definition of insanity by the way, doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

    But as for the opening topic, pre season teasers are offered, but most books know most guys arent retarded enough to bet them so most dont bother. For the most part most lines are going to move more than what a teaser would have offered anyway. So just bet the number at the 'right' time and you wont have to pick multiple teams or get reduced pay outs.

    The NFL is good for one thing, practice in predicting line moves. If you simply pencil lines and teams and try and predict moves and you are wrong more than you are right, the best thing you can do is go sign up for a fantasy league and get your NFL rocks off that way.
