    Fantasy Football Thread

Hey guys, I thought it would be a good idea to start a fantasy thread each week so people can ask questions and get advice from more knowledgeable posters...

The help I got here really helped me out last week and I could win my first game of the year...

Of course now Im 1-2 and need to win this week...
Got a little of a RB issue...

I got Frank Gore who's not 100% playing at KC and Ahmad Green who I just picked up but plays at Philly...
Who shoul I start, What do you guys think??

I think Frank Gore is fine. I'm a 49er fan and I watch all their games. He was walking around talking to the coach before they pulled him. I think that he had a minor problem but given Gore's history of injury they chose to be very safe with him and take him out of a game they had already lost anyway.

So Gore is 100% against the chiefs imo.

I would go with Gore at 75% health over Ahman Green against the Eagles. The thing is though, 49ers might be giving the ball to M Robinson more in goal line because Gore keeps fumbling around the goal line. That might hit the fantasy points, but I think its better than Ahman's chances at Philly.

I think Rivers is due for a bad game...

An injury knocked running back Frank Gore out of Sunday's game, but head coach Mike Nolan said on Monday he expected Gore to be available on Sunday for the 49ers road game against the Chiefs.

“It’s my understanding that he will play Sunday,” said Nolan. “Right now, he’ll be listed as questionable, but he checked out okay last night. He might be limited during the week, but it’s my expectation that he will play.”

Originally listed as an abdominal strain, Gore's diagnosis on Monday was changed to bruised ribs.

"I'll be on the field," Gore said. "I'm kind of sore, but
    I'll be all right."

Thats from the 49er website. Gore was running with 2 shoulders that needed surgery last year and he still ran like a beast. Bruised ribs slowing him down? Thats like having a small dent on a tank.

I agree completely..but its better than what Big Ben would get. Bye for the steelers this week but I wouldn't start him anyways.

I think I'll go with Bulldog on this one and go with Grossman. Seattle D allowed alot of points last week so I hope the same this week

    Hey guys,

Kellen Winslow is my Fantasy TE...
Has anybody heard anything on his status...
    He's listed as Questionable...
I dont have a backup, should I be concerned?
About the RB situation I forgot about Green but I got Chester Taylor back... he plays @ Buff
Gore is still listed as questionable but expected to start.
Would you consider starting Taylor instead?
    Thanks again for the help...
    And GL

Don't know anything about winslow but if you want a backup eric johnson is going to be a good point earner since Vernon Davis suffered a broken leg. My starting Te had a bye last week so i put EJ in and he lit it up... got me more points in 1 game then jason whitten got me all season.

Yeah man, I thought about him, but he's taken...
Actually, Jason Witten was my backup before...
Thanks for the advice though, I ll wait till tomorrow and if he's still questionable Ill find a backup...
And now I got Kerry Rhodes questionable as well, he's my DB...
Anyone heard anything on his status??

I'm ticked that I lost by 2 points this week because I had Westbrook going last night and didn't have his backup.

I picked up Reggie Williams this week because I dropped an extra TE I had. Looks like I will be starting him or Javon Walker this week, leaning towards Williams since the yare playing the Jets and Walker againts the Ravens.

Bulldog - I think Bledsoe might do well against the Eagles D, not sure about Favre. Frye is up against Carolina so I might pass on that. Alex Smith might have a good or bad game against Oakland, just depends if the SF Offense is clicking or not. I think I would take Smith over Frye though. Maybe Bledsoe, Favre, Smith. Or Bledsoe, Smith, Favre.

I'd bench Mason. I don't see Denver giving up much to the Ravens.

I think Glenn will have a good chance for some big plays against the Eagles considering all the extra attention TO is gonna get.

Reggie Williams is a good play since Matt Jones probably won't be playing. Should be the #1 receiving option for Leftwich.

Tough choice, I think I would start Delhomme he seems like he will be throwing the ball more with Smith and Johnson. Jags might just run all day on the Jets D.

    Hey guys...
Ok guys, FF question of the week...
    Who would you rather start??
Bledsoe or Brunell (I know they both suck but they both play at home against "weak" teams)
Im leaning towards Bledsoe but Im not sure...
He's been throwing way too many picks...
    Thanks guys..

Id hate to say it, but I think I would lean toward Drew Bledsoe myself. He has more weapons to throw to, in Terry Glenn and Terrell Owens, with Jones out of the back field. Oh yeah, almost forgot Jason Witten at TE.

Put me in the same column as lòóker here, Bulldog. I'd go with Bledsoe.

I've got Rivers at San Fran or Vick home against the Giants...which one? I'm leaning to Rivers right now.

I would go with Phillip Rivers also, Willie.

San Fran. dont have the greatest defense (Raiders scored 20 on them last week). Rivers has a great running back that can catch out of the back field, and also open up the receivers with his run...I just forget the guys name...(LaDainian Tomlinson) Plus they have Antonio Gates at tight end, not to shabby at that position either.

Giants have a decent rush defense, that can keep Michael Vick in check, along with Warrick Dunn. We all know Vick is not the best throwing QB in the league.

I think there is more upside to starting Vick, but both should have 1-2 td's.

Bulldog, I think I would go with Bledsoe this week. For fantasy sake I hope Portis runs all over the Titans and not Brunell

Willie I would go with with Rivers, Giants D was impressive last week but who knows if they will do the same this week. SF D is not that great at pass D but better at run D. Who knows if they will contain LT and Turner though. I'm predicting Rivers to throw like he did last week.

Tough call, I guess if you are really hurting for a RB then its worth it. Boldin and santana moss are pretty good if you made the trade. What kind of lineup do you have to run? The one I play in its 2 RB and 2 WR. Only person that you might miss is Harrison though.
