After going 9-6 against the Lions, Hasselbeck can use him!

Who the heck is Tom Brady going to throw to now? The Patriots don't like to overpay players. But this is going to hurt them in the long run. They need a receiver badly.

Brady can't be happy this morning.

Ok so does this say that 1) Darrel Jackson isnt now and isnt going to be the player he was for health reason 2) Nate Burelson is a bit "slow" and cant pick up the offense or 3) Both

After looking at the stats it loks like they should have just pooled the money theese WRs are going to cost them and paid Steve Hutchison. Ive got both Branch on two of my fantasy teams so Im just glad he is playing somewhere.

    Patriots deal Branch to Seattle
Foxboro, MA (Sports Network) - The New England Patriots announced Monday that they have traded disgruntled wide receiver Deion Branch to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for an undisclosed 2007 draft pick.

Reports out of Boston indicate that the Seahawks will send the Patriots a first-round pick next year.

Branch was set to enter the final season of a five-year contract that would have paid him just over $1 million, but he was a holdout in training camp and missed New England's season-opener Sunday against Buffalo.

The Patriots had previously given the former Super Bowl MVP permission to seek a trade and negotiate a contract with other clubs, but a deal was never finalized. There were reports out of Boston that said Branch received offers from Seattle and the New York Jets.

Branch then apparently filed a grievance with the NFL Players' Association, indicating the Patriots violated an agreement to deal him if the team was offered "fair and reasonable" compensation.

The University of Louisville product has racked up 213 receptions for 2,744 yards and 14 touchdowns over his four-year career. He had 11 catches in Super Bowl XXXIX against the Philadelphia Eagles to tie an NFL record and claim the MVP award.

Branch is coming off his best season as a pro, totaling 78 catches for 998 yards and five scores in 2005.

This is a good trade for the Seahawks IMO

The have needed a top notch reciever for quite some time now. It showed yesterday when they played the Lions just how much they needed to get some kind of jolt in that offense.

Same here, Ag. I really wish he and the Pats could've worked something out (partly because I also have Brady on my fantasy team). But if NE isn't going to pay him, they might as well trade him for something they can use down the road.

Probably a good trade for both teams.

Deion Branch would not of made a difference in that Lions game. The Lions defense was winning the line of scrimmage, and Seattle's offense was disrupted.

It just sucked that the Lions hurt themselfs with holding and false start penalties that killed their drives. The refs didnt help with a few blown calls either.
