Titans to topple Jets

Neither team looks to be headed towards the playoffs, but Tennessee will at least give their home crowd something to cheer today against the Jets.

The Jets enter into this opening week road contest against the Titans, having lost nine straight road games by an average 13.3 PPG dating back to the 2004 season.

The Jets have a bevy of walking wounded, and their aging stars look to have lost a step. New coach Eric Mangini, the former OC for the Pats, will have his hands full getting the Jets back to respectability especially with a new look lineup.

The host Titans are also a team that are tagged with the rebuilding label, and start a new era with former Texas star Steve Young or veteran Kerry Collins at QB in place of departed Steve McNair. Both teams are looking like less than stellar propositions this season.

But this week the lesser of two evils resides with backing the team with home field advantage. Final note: Titans are 13-2 ATS at home as 3-point or less chalk since 1992. Lay the points with Tennessee.
