Being as objective as i could I tried to watch this game and look and grade Luck. I am no scout, just a guy sitting on the couch with a remote and a laptop.
To me... he doesnt have a big arm. Not only that, his accuracy on short throws was pretty bad. He threw a bunch of balls to recievers that were kill shots. The passes reminded me of Matt Leinart. He will throw you a ball that you can catch, but a big hit is coming right between the numbers because you had to jump up high to get the ball.
Then... I noticed the Stanford coach deferred to the running game in the crunch moments of the 4th quarter. And when he let Luck throw, it was lots of dinks and dunks 5-7 yards out. The announcers keep trying to compare him to Manning, Brees and Brady. But those three will sling the ball all over the field...
If you coach won't let you throw the ball with 3 minutes to go and the game on the line. There has to be a problem...
Is there something I missed? And this guy isn't looking over rated?
