Yea I Know... Another Andrew Luck Bashing Thread

I am watching ESPN Classic after work. The Stanford vs USC(2011) game is on. I never caught this game live, so i decided to sit down and watch.

Being as objective as i could I tried to watch this game and look and grade Luck. I am no scout, just a guy sitting on the couch with a remote and a laptop.

To me... he doesnt have a big arm. Not only that, his accuracy on short throws was pretty bad. He threw a bunch of balls to recievers that were kill shots. The passes reminded me of Matt Leinart. He will throw you a ball that you can catch, but a big hit is coming right between the numbers because you had to jump up high to get the ball.

Then... I noticed the Stanford coach deferred to the running game in the crunch moments of the 4th quarter. And when he let Luck throw, it was lots of dinks and dunks 5-7 yards out. The announcers keep trying to compare him to Manning, Brees and Brady. But those three will sling the ball all over the field...

If you coach won't let you throw the ball with 3 minutes to go and the game on the line. There has to be a problem...

Is there something I missed? And this guy isn't looking over rated?

.. can't even comment on your analysis. college stats are meaningless when evaluating qbs.

Lots of pressure and he's going to a team that needs a serious rebuild. This could get Alex Smith ugly, quickly.

He had a bad game in college? That's probably gonna drop him out of the 1st round when the other teams' scouts catch this game.

I didn't say he had a bad game? I just said... he doesnt belong in the same sentence of any elite quarterback. At least RGIII has a deep ball, and his coach actually trusts him to make the throws.

I am not allowed to have an opinion? You have an opinion, and to my knowledge you aren't exactly a professional analyst either. So i fail to see your point.

Stanford didn't have downfield threats to make those plays viable. I'm pretty sure he can make every throw on the field. He will have growing pains in Indy though.

Anyone at the college level can throw 75 yards if a 300lb athlete isn't running after them
