Tebow to the Jets isn't official yet boys !!! It can still fall apart if they don't get all of the details together and the Rams will be back in the mix.

Guys, Sanchez is still the starter, Tebow will be used in the wildcat. Actually a good move from a pure football sense, Tebow is an upgrade in the wildcat from Brad Smith. so Jets should bring it back and use it quite often, especially near the goal line.

J-ville`s GM didn`t want anything to do with tebow :

New Jaguars owner Shahid Khan didn't try to hide the fact that he was smitten with Tim Tebow. Here's what he said in February when asked if he would've taken Tebow in the 2010 draft:

"One-hundred percent I would have [drafted Tebow]. Absolutely...Obviously the Rams drafted Sam Bradford, and I was talking to (former owner) Wayne (Weaver) then on what they ought to do. … I don't want to get into 20/20 hindsight, and God help us, the draft record has not been the best with the Jaguars," Khan added.

Which is all fine and dandy except that Jacksonville general manager Gene Smith wanted no part of Tebow then, and that still held after Tebow lost out in the Peyton Manning Sweepstakes. A full 10 days before Manning decided on Denver, the AP's Mark Long tweeted that "As long as Gene Smith is making personnel decisions, Tim Tebow will NOT play QB for the Jaguars. Let it go!"

Which was easy for most folks, but most folks don't currently own the Jags. And that's why last weekend we ranked Jacksonville as the most likely destination for Tebow, even though they had Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne on the roster.

On Wednesday, minutes after the Jets (re)traded for Tebow, Khan issued a statement through the Jags' website.

"Earlier this week I asked Gene Smith and his staff to explore the potential of acquiring Tim Tebow. I think we have a duty to consider all avenues of improving the Jaguars on and off the field, especially given the unique circumstances involving the player. I appreciate the high level of due diligence Gene and his staff dedicated to this matter, even as late as this evening, and I am very satisfied with the outcome. Our commitment to developing Blaine Gabbert was, and still is, central to our goal of returning the Jaguars to elite status in the NFL. We're looking ahead with zero regrets."

However it happened, this is the best possible outcome for Gabbert, who already has plenty to concern himself with after putting up some abysmal numbers last season, even for a rookie (we know, we know, it wasn't entirely his fault but his stats are his stats). The Jets' Mark Sanchez will find out shortly that sharing a depth chart with Tebow is a horrific strategy for pushing the starter. (Unless the goal is to push the starter onto the bench and, eventually, out of town. In which case, well done, Jets!)

Source: Tim Tebow can pick team

Jacksonville or New York? Tim Tebow's future is up to him.

After a trade that would have sent the Broncos quarterback to the New York Jets hit a contract-related snag Wednesday afternoon, a league source tells ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that Tebow can choose whether Denver deals the former Heisman Trophy winner to his hometown Jaguars or to Rex Ryan's Jets.

Word spread rapidly Wednesday that the Jets had acquired Tebow from Denver for draft picks, the teams encountered a hang-up in the language in Tebow's contract that put the trade on hold, a Broncos source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

If this is true I don`t know why he wouldn`t have picked j-ville where he had a shot of being the starter instead of being the backup and running a couple of wildcat plays with the jets .

Tebow picked the Jets guys....I just listened to NY reporters interviewing him on a conference call. Says that he has been very good friends with Sanchez and knows Rex Ryan because they share the same agents......Tebow said that the Jets have a very good plan for him and he will be helping the team in a lot of different ways.....He said that he wanted to go to the Jets because everyone in the organization wanted him there unlike J-Ville

check this out - keep in mind this is from The Wall Street Journal

    The Day Tebow-Mania Invaded N.Y.

Inside the Jets team shop on 50th Street on Wednesday afternoon, the phone seemed to ring as soon as the clerk put it down. Every caller wanted to know the same thing. When would the Tim Tebow jerseys be in? People walking in past the reporters and the television news crew on the street asked, too. They asked so often that another clerk began answering the Tebow question before customers could open their mouths.

"No, we cannot do Tebow jerseys until he signs," she shouted at one man as he walked through the door.

    Uh-oh!

That's what defensive coaches around the NFL should be saying after getting wind of the finally consummated trade between the New York Jets and Denver Broncos that puts Tim Tebow on Broadway.

    1. Tebow makes the Jets' running game more explosive.

    2. Tebow is an ideal fit in Tony Sparano's "Wildcat" offense.

    3. Tebow's arrival will bring out the best in Mark Sanchez.

Jets If NY Jets teammates think Tim Tebow is so ‘terrible,’ let the quarterback prove it

Now is the time for last-place Gang Green, losers of three straight, dropping the squad to 3-6, to let Tebow show if he can play

    Comments (1)NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

    Saturday, November 17, 2012, 7:25 PM

    Stephen Brashear/AP

'Terrible' Tim’s game is built around leadership and momentum and crazy plays running around, but can that win a Super Bowl?

ST. LOUIS — It’s time the Jets find out if Tim Tebow is really Terrible Tim.

It was a bad idea back in March when the Jets traded for Tebow and it looks even worse in November, especially following the events of last week when teammates (one called him “terrible”) and members of the organization trashed him in a Daily News story.

    Great guy, not a quarterback.

    That’s the consensus.

Now is the time for the last-place Jets, losers of three straight, dropping them to 3-6, to let Tebow show if he can play. Give him the ball against the 3-5-1 Rams on Sunday for at least one or two complete series and let’s see if he can recreate the Tebow Mania that was the biggest story in the NFL last season when he took the Broncos into the second round of the playoffs.

The Jets season has landed in the toilet and if they lose to the Rams you can pull the plunger and flush it away. It then could get really ugly on Thanksgiving night against the Patriots with fans in a hostile mood leaving the holiday dinner table to attend a game simply because they didn’t want to throw away very expensive tickets.

Tebow is the only player on the Jets roster who could inject energy into a season that has lacked any positive buzz. It’s time for a little Timsanity.

Mark Sanchez looks less like the quarterback who will ever end the Super Bowl drought and more like a quarterback who has cracked under the pressure of his bosses bringing in the most popular player in the NFL to back him up.

No team treats its starting quarterback like the Jets do. But Sanchez has not responded. He’s had three years and nine games to show he has the goods to one day be an elite quarterback and thus end talk of Tebow getting on the field more. Mission not accomplished. You can’t spell elite without E-L-I (at least until the last month or so), but it’s quite easy to spell elite without Sanchez.

The offense didn’t score a touchdown against Miami in the last game before the bye, and to prove it was no fluke, the offense didn’t score a touchdown in the first game following the bye last week in Seattle.

So, what should the Jets do?

Give Tebow a chance. Averaging five snaps a game at quarterback, only a couple of times on consecutive plays, raises the issue: Why is he even here?

Rex Ryan and Tony Sparano have completely mishandled Tebow. Woody Johnson told us the other day it wasn’t his call to bring in Tebow. He wasn’t distancing himself from the decision — remember Woody believes you can never have too much Tebow — but like all personnel decisions, he said this one belonged to Ryan and GM Mike Tannenbaum.

Do the Jets really have anything to lose by making Tebow Time just a little bit more than one play at a time? Using him a play here or there hurts Sanchez and Tebow.

Tebow’s game is built around leadership and momentum and crazy plays running around. Can that win a Super Bowl? Absolutely not. Can it help salvage a season that otherwise could eventually get Ryan and Tannenbaum fired a year from now? Absolutely.

Can they at least give Tebow a complete series so he can show what he’s got? If he was going to be such a limited role player, then the Jets should have stuck with Plan A and kept Drew Stanton and not had all this aggravation. Is anybody else tired of hearing Ryan said how Tebow’s presence puts such a strain on the opposition’s preparation time?

The first time Sanchez goes three-and-out against the Rams — that won’t take long — the Jets should give Tebow the next series. If he goes three-and-out, then he didn’t do any worse than Sanchez. But if it becomes Tebow Time 2.0, then maybe he can spark this comatose offense. The Jets need somebody to give a shot of adrenaline to the genius schemes Sparano has crammed into the playbook. Sparano is another issue: He’s an offensive line coach and they don’t tend to be offensive gurus.

If Tebow is given the chance and plays lights out against the Rams, then give him more time against the Patriots. If he outplays Sanchez, then let him start Dec. 2 against the Cardinals.

It’s so hard to win in the NFL just battling the other 31 teams. But so many of the Jets’ problems are self-inflicted. It’s time to let Tebow perform in the circus.
