Skins trade up to #2 pick

They will be taking RG3 and will bow out of the P Manning circus.

I'll call for RG3 to be a bust. Cool guy, but did it vs several bad defenses. Can't keep pushing a guy like this up the totem pole.

Also, Cam Newton will be flushed out as a bust next year.

RG3 might be a superstar, and if the Redskins were a QB away from being competitive, this would be the right move. However, an aging team that's been in the cellar for something like 8 of the last 10 years is going to be crippled by this move. The Rams clearly got the better end of this.

I think this move will result in Griffin's best case scenario as REALLY being the next Mike Vick (not including personal life), an electrifying superstar who struggles to get into the playoffs, and stands no chance to get to the Super bowl because he has no team.

After the Haynesworth and McNabb debacles, I don't see how they think they can afford another huge gamble.

Disagree.....when you have a chance to get your young franchise qb of the future you jump on it......And build around that.....This is not a move for next season, it is a move for the next 10 seasons

Every high pick black QB is always being talked about being a bust.....its ridiculous

Yeah, Cam Newton, a rookie who looked awesome will suddenly start getting worse and worse to be considered a bust?? Based on what exactly? Cam Newton will be top 5 in 2 years.....His potential is unreal

RG3 will be a good one if he stays injury free.

Have to agree that on paper this is too high of a price to pay. But if the RG3 turns out to be a great QB then it was worth it.

That's the problem, people think he "looked" awesome.

He got worse and worse as the season went on besides a few games against scrubs that inflated his stats he was horrible.
He is Jeremy Lin of the NFL.

    Aging team? Incorrect:

In two brief offseasons, they have transformed the Redskins from one of the oldest teams in the league to one of the youngest, with an average age of just 26.

Im glad the Redskins pulled the trigger on this deal,it keeps the Browns from trading up to get him.Cleveland has 3 of the first 36 picks in draft, they can fill some of the holes on the roster. In my opinion it was to risky to trade that much for an unproven rookie QB.

Having said that,Im sure the Browns will find another way to **** up their draft,or maybe for once they do have a good draft and then subsequently their picks go down with injuries. Its Hell being a life long Cleveland fan.

Iv'e been a Redskin fan for a long time and the past 20 years have been painful. I don't care what it takes to get a franchise QB. After you get your QB you build around him.

With all the cap space redskins have, looks like they could line a few things up and be a loaded team this year. Will all depend on if RG3 is actually good or not.

And he was a rookie.....rookies usually shit the bed at qb

Not crazy to project Cam Newton will be a very good qb based off of potential down the line......his rushing Included in the whole package

He took an absolute garbage panthers team and actually made them competitive as well

Yup, they might as well take a shot at a young qb for once. Instead of signing a 3 year rental qb.

Plus all you people they keep saying they gave up three #1st rounders. Really only gave up 2 first rounders and 1 second rounder. They just moved down 4 slots this year.

This seems like a way better deal for a potential franchise QB; than what the falcons did for Julio Jones. Atlanta gave the Browns five -- five! -- draft picks: their 1st- (27th overall), second- (59th) and fourth-round (124th) picks this year and their first- and fourth-round picks in 2012.

All that and they got blanked by the Giants in the playoffs (yea, falcons def scored a safety). Falcons offense did nothing, w/o a qb your wrs are useless. At least an awesome QB can make your shitty receivers a bit better.

Too bad the Falcons didn't wait a year, they could have signed Mike Wallace for just 1 measly first rounder.
