A very long coast-to-coast trip got longer. Also surprised they got to San Fran so late. Thought they would be there a couple days early on friday to get their bodies used to the time shift

(i've heard other NFL coaches wanting to get there an extra day early on these C2C trips, and heard them say it's a distinct advantage to get there early)

You guys are obviously locked in on the G Men. How could this ever be good for the Giants? Can't compare CBB to NFL but did you see what the travel delays did to Purdue yesterday? Quinn and Budin already on the Giants. If Lang comes in on them, I'm unloading on the San Fran. GL

Giants finally arrive in S.F. after flight delay

SAN FRANCISCO -- The 49ers and the New York Giants arrived to their team hotels Saturday evening at approximately the same time.

The difference is the Giants were delayed nearly two hours out of Newark, N.J., due to a mechanical problem. And the Giants were in the air for six hours on their cross-country flight.

Meanwhile, the 49ers had their typical Saturday, which included a brief walk-through practice at the team's practice facility in Santa Clara. They never hold practices at Candlestick Park, and the field was covered with a tarp, anyway. The 49ers checked into their team hotel Saturday evening as part of their usual routine before home games.

When the 49ers fly to the East Coast for a Sunday game, they typically arrive late Friday evening. They'd get to their hotel more than 36 hours before kickoff.

In comparison, the Giants arrived in San Francisco at 5 p.m. on Saturday -- NFC Championship Game Eve. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Candlestick Park.
