IS Terry Bradshaw the most overrated QB ever?

The guy won but man he was awful.

This clown threw 212 TD passes and 210 INT's. He had a 70.9 rating

Guy was just lucky to be in the right spot at the right time. He did fukk all.

I use to think that as a kid since I'm a Cowboys fan, but then (I believe) his last game of his career against the Jets changed that. He came in with a bad injury and carried the Steelers in a do or die game to get them in the playoffs.

stats dont mean shyt... the blonde bomber was solid...

its a different era.. i believe sammy baugh had like 50% completion percentage... use to be a time when passs were always 15 yards or more.. not 2 yards and watch the rb run

in the chad pennington thread you said stats mean shyt, but then here you list bradshaws stats???

    cant have it both ways

The truth always lies somewhere in between. Fortunate to be on a talented roster w/ a fearsome defense? Yes.

But also had skill. Hi draft choice w/ a big-time arm. Threw a lot of deep balls to Stallworth/Swann, so I'd dismiss the 1.00 TD/INT ratio a bit.

i made this same mistake when i was younger when comparing stats. you got to realize that the game was much different. qbs used to be able to get hit and dbs could do a lot more to receivers.

look at what happened this year in the nfl. rodgers, brees, brady even stafford had freakish numbers. this stuff didn't use to happen. the rules and game favors passing. it's like playing in the backyard for these guys now.

The Stats of those QB's back then were never too impressive. It was a different game and it was near impossible for WR's to get open with the lenient rules they had back then.

Bradshaw was good for the Steeler's. Won 4 Super Bowls.. He played the game when it was a game where qb's took a beating. I'm a Steeler's fan since 1970 and I was a fan of Bradshaw's until I met him at a card show in New Jersey to get his auto on my Steeler's football helmet..Must of been a bad day or something cause he was an asshole at the show..Didn't greet his fans like I thought he should have. Didn't look up much and didn't hardly talk to anyone at the show. Great football player....jackass in my opinion as a public figure...

No answer to the op's question.

But another issue - I find it incredibly depressing seeing balding paunchy middle aged guys who have undergone plastic surgery, doing NFL "analysis", and it's even worse when they're doing in studio demonstrations of NFL plays.

    He was gritty

    But was nothing special

Take the steel curtain away from him and he is lucky to be a .500 QB
