    Jaguars Go Fishing In Miami

Depth and competition for jobs should propel Jacksonville tonight over the Dolphins in NFL preseason action.

Many people are excited about the Dolphins after they won their last six games last season to finish at 9-7.

However, we still feel that Jacksonville is the much better team here, and the Jaguars also have more depth which helps their cause in the second half vs. the Miami reserves. There is a fight for a starting wide receiver position between Matt Jones and Reggie Williams, meaning that both players should be at their best while getting extended playing time. The Jags also drafted a nice running back in Maurice Drew out of UCLA, who we think will also flourish in relief of Fred Taylor.

The Fish have a lot of questions to answer on both sides of the ball. Newly acquired quarterback Daunte Culpepper is recovering from a major knee injury and he may play only one series or so tonight. That means that another newbie, Joey Harrington, will get most of the action, and he was not even good enough to stick with the Lions. Miami also has little depth at running back behind Ronnie Brown right now with Ricky Williams exiled to the CFL, and Brown still needs to prove that he is an every-down back.

    Play: Jacksonville +1 (-110)
