49ER fans selling their tickets to Steeler fans. just listen when Heaqth Miller catches a pass and you will hear HHHHEEEEAAATTTHHHH from the Steeler fans. I promise you there will be a lot of Steeler fans in the stands. Now back to the game. Steelers too beat up to beat SF. Take SF and under and the worst you do is lose the juice

Steelers' Batch preparing for possible start

"Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger limped noticeably Wednesday at the team's practice facility, and the quarterback did not address reporters — and their inevitable questions about whether his left ankle will be well enough for him to play Monday night in San Francisco. Charlie Batch said he expects to start if Roethlisberger is unable to play, a little less than two weeks after sustaining a high-ankle sprain in a 14-3 win over the Browns. "Being that the game is on Monday, it wouldn't surprise me if I found out on Monday," Batch said. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said yesterday during a conference call with San Francisco reporters that Roethlisberger "can be ready to play on a limited"

The only chance 49ers have to win this game is if Joe Montana and Jerry Rice come back at their prime.. Get it??? soo stfu novice... hahaha

The most points the 49ers have given up all year was 27 against Dallas, so Steelers will be lucky to score anything over 20. I'm betting the Steelers offense is going to struggle all night long especially with Ben being hobbled (if he plays), it's gonna be another Texans/Chiefs/Browns kind of game. Steelers defense will have to win the game, really wish Harrison and Woodley could have both played.

    Team A: 17
    Team B: 13

Could go either way, but if Big Ben doesn't play, I don't see the Steelers winning, Dixon and Batch are pretty bad.

They went 3 and 1 last year.. if they play it will be a simplier playbook.... the good thing for pitt is it will be a agametime decision...dixon is very mobilty usually need time to prepare for that... 49ers offense isn't actually scary either... looks like nittany said 13 10 12 10 type game

Big Ben is a game-time decision for Steelers

The most talked about ankle in Pittsburgh has been soaked in hot and cold tubs. It has been massaged, and on Thursday, it got fitted for a custom-made brace that will provide support and protection if Ben Roethlisberger is able to play in San Francisco.
The one thing the Steelers quarterback hasn't done to ensure that he suits up for Monday night's key game is suspend time. And that is one thing even beyond his reach, no matter how superhuman Roethlisberger looked in returning from injury to lead the Steelers to a 14-3 win over the Browns last Thursday.
Despite making what Roethlisberger called "big progress" since sustaining the first high-ankle sprain of his career, the Steelers may not know whether they he can play until early Monday night.
Roethlisberger and the Steelers hope he is able to practice, even if only on a limited basis, today or Saturday. If that happens, they may wait to make a decision on Roethlisberger until after watching warm-ups at Candlestick Park.
"Adrenaline does funny things sometimes," Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said.
It helped Roethlisberger return in the Steelers' most recent game, not long after suffering one of the scariest injuries of his career. But the left ankle, Roethlisberger said, feels worse than it did immediately after the Browns game.
He said he has been undergoing "nonstop" treatment on the ankle, and he's trying to regain range of movement. Roethlisberger said he isn't able to stand on his toes or make any sharp movements because the pain is so severe.
"I'm going to do everything I can to be out there. I don't know if it's my decision," said Roethlisberger, who has yet to practice this week. "If it was just a matter of pain, I'd be out there. I'm physically unable to do certain things."
Roethlisberger has played through a left mid-foot sprain and a broken thumb this season. This injury is more problematic than the other two because it makes Roethlisberger more of a target if he does play against the 49ers.
"The lack of mobility with a high-ankle sprain is a little more than what he's had to deal with in the past," Arians said. "We've got to be more careful with him. He'll let us know."
One of a myriad of factors that may come into play for the Steelers when deciding if Roethlisberger suits up: whether his swashbuckling style would further compromise him against one of the top defenses in the NFL.
"We know how Ben plays," said Ron Jaworski, a former NFL quarterback and current "Monday Night Football" color analyst. "He likes to move around and find windows to buy a little time, and even with the injury, I don't think he is going to change. That's just not Ben. I think he'll be the same guy he was before the ankle injury."
Progress from the injury has come in increments.
A massage that Roethlisberger received Wednesday helped bring down the swelling in his left ankle to the point that it looks like, well, an ankle. He's walking without the aid of a protective boot on his left foot at various times, but he has been advised to not lose the boot completely.
The one thing playing on a Monday night gives Roethlisberger is a little extra time. The Steelers are hoping it's enough for him to play in the meeting of 10-3 teams.
"He's making a little progress slowly but surely," Arians said. "I've seen him recover in the past, and we hope he makes that kind of progress in the next three or four days."
If Roethlisberger doesn't play, the Steelers don't plan on using both Charlie Batch and Dennis Dixon against the 49ers.
When asked if Dixon has a chance to play if the Steelers are down to their two backups, Arians said, "Only if Charlie gets hurt."
Arians also said the Steelers' game plan won't change if Batch starts in place of Roethlisberger.

Alex Smith cannot handle the blitz. Never has and probably never will.

That is probably all we need to know about this game.

After the poor personell decisions/play calling from last week I'm hesitant to put my money on SF this week with their backs against the wall. Also don't like Smith's performances as of late. Will put my heart on SF this week but my money will stay in my pocket. If anything I like the over.

Yes. That is just dumb. You're talking about second and third string QBs playing in an away game against the best defense in the league.

Steelers don't have to win this game. Niners do. Steelers are ok in the playoffs on the road, Niners probably can't beat any of the Saints/Falcons/Giants on the road. Niners must win, Niners will win.

Im trying to remember a Monday Night game that the Niners lost at home and the only one that comes to mind is the game that Terrell Owens scored and pulled out a sharpie.

I believe it was in 2002.
