    $100,000 NFL Survivor help needed

    Mates,

The incredible has happened. Yours truly is one of the only 122 remaining Survivors left standing in the Sportsbook.com $100,000 NFL Survivor pool. There were originally 12,864 contestants.

Here are the teams I've used to date: Texans, Steelers, Chargers, Bucs, Bengals, Ravens, Cowboys, Lions, Falcons Packers

My question for Week 11 is simple:

Do I take the "safe" pick and go with the dreamboat Tom Brady and his Patriots over the Chiefs? Or do I play "ballsy" and pick the Jets on the road against Denver on Thursday night, setting up the Patriots over Colts 2 weeks later?

Since I think Denver will knock off the Jets, I would go with the Pats.

Yeah I think you're right. From what I can tell there will only be about 50 contestants who will be able to pick the Pats over Chiefs (easiest game on the board IMO), so strategically I should live to fight another day and root for the Broncos to pull the upset and knock off some more contenders.

    Pats over Chiefs Week 11
    Saints over Giants Week 12
    49ers over Rams Week 13
    Jets over Chiefs Week 14
Giants over Redskins Week 15 or Bears over Seahawks * playoff necessity pending

Good point - if it's still Skelton I think I'd have to look at San Fran. The only thing is I had them penciled in as my Week 13 pick at home over the Rams. The Rams have fewer weapons than the Cardinals do (especially on special teams!) and I think SF has the type of defense that can shut down a one-dimenional Stephen Jackson attack.

No way the Chiefs knock off New England sans Matt Cassell.

Fair enough. Stay away from the Jets though.

I actually won and received $40,000 from Sportsbook.com from July through last week. However, their insanely slow payouts caused me to blow another $25,000 that I would have withdrawn had I been able to get my money out in a timely fashion.

I have absolutely no freaking clue how you'd get $100,000 out of them since they have done away with the DC option. I was defending Sportsbook.com on here pretty vocally but I wouldn't stick up for them anymore. They essentially have no withdrawal options that are better than "god awful" at this point.

I'd have to try to open a local bank account who still accepts wires from their processor but that would definitely require some help from SBR or OSGA. It would be a heckuva problem to have.

I have 2 of the 122 left...good luck and yes I too worry about getting paid...won last year with 7 or 8 others...netted 9k and it probably took 2 months to get paid...
I would take NE if it was a choice...I think I have them in one of my entries....but thinking about week 13 versus Indy....looking at Atlanta home versus Tennesse or even Detroit home versus Carolina...

Wow good luck - let's stay in touch in case we are the last 2 standing and wanted to consider a meetup in Vegas and a joint play/hedge or something.

I'd happily take a guaranteed $50,000 and no stress versus risking winning nothing except $15,000 or so in hedge bets.

ETA: I'm also an SBR Pro under a different username so if it came down to it I bet SBR would be willing to put us in touch with each other to facilitate. But we've obviously got a long way to go.

Week 12 looks very tough. What are you leaning?

If you took the Jets over the Broncos and won, you'd still have The Pats at the Linc week 12 and 49ers at Baltimore. You should closely monitor Vick's health situation.

What about going 49ers week 11 (home v ARI), Jets week 12 (home v Buff), and then Pats (home v Colts) week 13?

Not to be a dic* but you probably won't see any money from that site if you win.

I have received over 50 payouts from Sportsbook.com over the past 10 years. Some take an infuriatingly long amount of time, but they always get here eventually. It would probably take a year to get $100,000 out and you'd probably put at least $400,000 in play while waiting for your checks to slowly trickle out.

    I would go

    Week 11 NE over KC
    Week 12 Ten over TB
    Week 13 Chi over KC
    Week 14 NYJ over KC
    Week 15 NYG over WSH
    Week 16 SF over SEA
    Week 17 NO over CAR

Week 12 looks like it going to be a tough week

Week 12 does look pretty hard but just wait until we see if any injuries come up and go from there is what I would advise here. I would go with NE this week against KC. KC doesn't have a QB now and they are in big trouble now.

The Eagles screwed my pool and me up badly.
There are only 14 of 1,705 entrants remaining after last week. $170,500 is a pretty sweet pot that only 14 are competing for!

WOW that is great feedback my man... but i still think the Jets are a GREAT play this Thursday night which-given my record-there's a 40% chance that will hit... as i said in my takes today after another 2-3 week... "I may have to think about changing my name form Geno’s Picks to McQueary’s Picks - they’re 40% accurate and people who trust them end up getting screwed."

Still i think if any defense can take out Tebow, the Jets can and once they do that, what do they have left a banged up backfield and Eric Decker who drops as many as he catches... thoughts?
