    Colts defensive coordinator quits

    Wow. What a blow.

    Ron Meeks Walks

Ron Meeks has resigned as the Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator, the team announced today.

Meeks, 54, had held that position with the team since 2002.

The team offered no comment on the change in coach Jim Caldwell’s staff. Meeks could not be reached for comment.

Wonder what brought that on. I'll have to investigate, but we need better defense if we are to get back to another SB while Peyton is here.

Meeks is lucky he lasted that long. If Dungy wasn't the coach and didn't have such power, his sorry ass would have been fired after the Steelers loss in 2006. The Colts defense was terrible in just about every big game they ever played.

Even the year they won the Super Bowl, they only had to play one offense that was even decent, NE, and the Pats blew the game in Indy and Manning was awesome in the 4th quarter. The other wins were KC, Baltimore and Chicago.

Colts are still headed for a bad run, even with Manning. I see them 9-7 next season.

Agree with you about the defense, Slew.
