Yes it is a factor. They are very banged up at a lot of positions. I won't even consider making a play on this until Friday's after practice reports are out

SD controlling the ball on the ground isn't going to happen! Their RBs are banged up and they don't really pound the ball anyway (24 carries in both of the last 2 games). Rivers will have to play well or they'll get beat down!

    Ok. Where to start.

First, Packers are 31st against the pass because there is PLENTY of garbage time in Packers games. Most of those yards come when the Packers already have the game in hand. Using that stat for comparison is a recipe for disaster. Also, teams have to go to the passing when playing the Packers. It's the only way to keep up. Can the Chargers move the ball up and down the field on the Packers D, probably, but when it's red zone, Chargers will be held to a field goal often enough.

2nd, Chargers are ranked high against the pass? They've only played one team that has anywhere NEAR the Packers passing attack and that's the Patriots and the Chargers gave up 423 yards and 3 TD's. Actually the patriots are the only team they've played with any type of decent passing attack. Packers will move the ball at will against the Chargers.

Chargers have no killer instinct. Packers do. Packers know how to put away games. Chargers . . . not so much.

Packers are one of the few teams that DO NOT look past teams.

Last I checked the Packers are -5.5. I'm jumping on that one.

Dude, stats are good. But you gotta think about how those numbers relate and if they mean anything at all (which in this case, none of your numbers support an argument for the Chargers).

lol how does adding "most" to it mean that he isn't #1 worst in the league.

"+est" is the Superlative degree. there is nothing as "more or most dumbest" Dumbest = Most Dumb

Most dumbest = Most Most Dumb

chill out everyone, nobody cares about grammar here. (doesn't mean I won't correct you if you are really wrong, don't want other people to think its actually right)

SD coming off a Monday game are 10-6 SU and and 9-6-1 ATS since '93. And 7-1 SU and ATS since 2005. They won and covered both last year off a Monday game. Collectively the league is 414-318-1 SU and 358-359-16 ATS since '89 coming off a Monday game. However, the league is 6-9-1 ATS and 7-9 SU this year.

One thing Diego has been consistent on this year is turning the ball over when there starting to get a deep drive going ,it's really pathetic. If Matthews doesn't play this game the whole running game will be on Tolbert who is dealing with a hamstring and the 3rd back brinkley is out with a concussion

    Sports bettors,

I CANNOT believe what I am reading..SBR has more degenerate gamblers than any place on earth! I wish I could start an online sportsbook and have you people bet on it. Amazing, how dumb some of your picks are and why you are picking this way.

    GB vs. SD

Why am I going to win my parlay with Green Bay you ask?

San Diego was losing to a KC Chiefs team that only had 106 yards of total offense more than midway through the 3rd quarter and less than a hand full of 1st downs! Green Bay will have more than 106 yards on SD soft ass defense in the first quarter..

Seriously, I just became a bookie...Anyone want to place bets with me on here? I would be more than welcome to take your bets

Good call imo. I'm thinking something like 31-27 GB. SD will come out like monsters at home with the crowd and GB will be a little rusty coming off their bye. I'm probably playing SD 1st half and Over 50.5....maybe the total keeps dropping? Rivers doesn't have his RBs healthy and SD plays the run pretty well so expect 35-40+ passes from both QBs.

I'd like to reiterate that GB's defence has the 2nd most INTs in the league and Phillip Rivers is throwing the ball away for fun lately.

    Packers ML for me.

You're right...pounding road favorites in the NFL when its GUARANTEED to be a complete sellout is always easy money! The public will mostly be on GB in the end anyway....they don't know $hit but they heard GB won the SB last year and they're undefeated.

I would worry more about Green Bay coming off the bye. With the new collective bargaining rules it appears that rust settles in on teams coming off a bye, look at the results this year the only team I can think that covered off a bye was Philly.

I was referring to the other knucklehead shouting down SD backers as squares. I made a bundle on GB in the playoffs last year myself. My God you Packer bandwagon clowns are ridiculously sensitive. Who is Dorsey Levens or Antonio Freeman? Work that google and find out.....most of you Packer "fans" have no fcn idea since you've only been a fan since January!

I do think SD will cover...especially since the GB squares will probably drive it back to 6.5 on Bodog for one. Aaron Rodgers is the best in the business but don't think this team is invincible by any means. They've already dropped 2 ats on the road (vs 2 rookie QBs), covered the Saints game by about 2 feet and Chicago would've made the 3rd road spread loss if the ref didn't call some bogus bs on Hester's return.

Bandwagon? Been a fan since 83, were you even born child? Ever hear of Lynn Dickey? Know who your dealing with before you start labeling people genius!

This Packer fan isn't sensitive, I just deal in reality. They're 5-2 ATS and I've only played them twice, 2-0. I've yet to hear a good reason why the Chargers are a good play other then some BS about them being due or GB being flat off the bye.

i wouldnt say "because sd is due" as much as "sd just has a way of showing up when you dont expect it"... i certainly cant argue they have played a tough schedule or have looked impressive but that doesnt mean they do not have the talent to beat anyone..Rivers been awful but we all know he is capable of carving anyone up, him and Gates getting more continuity now that Gates been back a few weeks and seems pretty healthy...

will it happen? hell if i know. not even sure i play it but 6 points is damn tempting if i believe Chargers stand up this week..

Rivers can move the ball at will in between the 20's,so if he can overcome his along with the offensive play calling in the red-zone slump, San Diego will light up the score board...........

San Diego has a monkey on their back which is a great deal of the need to prove that they are a still a contender, what better to way to do this by upsetting the defending still undefeated Superbowl champs....

The bye week has been deemed to be hazardous this year in the NFL for all but the in the slump teams such as Philadelphia.......

There are no recent match-ups between these two teams to get a good read on this aspect of the game..
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The key advantage San Diego has over the Packers in this match-up is in the passing game on both sides of the ball>

Chargers passing attack is ranked 6th while the Packers are ranked 31st defending it....

Chargers are ranked 4th defending the pass while the Packers passing attack is ranked 3rd.....

However you can slowdown Rodgers but you can't stop him completely, with that said I believe San Diego should be able to outscore Green Bay slightly setting up the over to be a good play as well........
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I see this game kind of like the GB@Minn. game, only difference Rivers is a proven QB that should be able to overcome his misfortunes this week....

what is psychologically driving Rivers? Aaron Rodgers.............

Moral to this story is, if you are backing the Pack this weekend tread lightly..........
Or...OR....San Diego will still be deflated from how they blew it in that fashion after making that comeback vs a divisional foe...and come out be destroyed.

San Diego started 2-4 last year but 4-2 this year with a worse team...they lose this game and are still 4-4 and still right in the thick of things in their division...San Diego are underachievers and as JJ says, a choke team.

Packers, on the other hand... will want to right things after only squeaking by the Vikings on SNF, and with 2 weeks to prepare...will only help the cause.

I think people are forgetting how depleted this Chargers team really is. They're a talented bunch when healthy, but they're clearly not at the moment. Their starting running back is out, #2 WR is out, best pass rusher is out and their talented TE is playing on one leg. Not to mention, there are rumors Rivers has a bum shoulder and is playing hurt. The ducks he was throwing up last Monday night and the lack of zip on his throws sure look like he's playing hurt.
