Patriots @ Steelers Official SBR Thread

Hey guys, this one could be the game of the year! What are your thoughts? The Patriots are currently -2.5 road favorites.

Do you think Brady will continue his historic season?

How good are the Steelers, really?

Will the Pittsburgh defense bother Brady like the Cowboys did?

Let us know your thoughts and who you are cashing!

I'm pounding NE -3. Pittsburgh plays well at home but that Pats offense is exactly the type to give the Steelers D trouble.

Pats take care of business. They're one team you can count on to use their bye week effectively.

I see NE doing well and this one not being too close. Then again, I lost my 100% prediction record a long time ago...

Brady has historically done very well against the Steelers. Ask most Steeler fans, Brady is the last QB they want to face. Mike Wallace should have a good game, but I think the Pats win this fairly comfortably.

    35-20

He seems to carve up LeBeau's defenses.. Pats only way i could go in this one...possibly over as well..

The Pats passing game always gives the Steelers fits, I hope my Steelers can pull this one off but if I had to bet it, I'd go with the Patriots.

Should be a good game. A lot of value on teasing the Steelers up I think. And if I had to choose, I think I'd lean towards taking the Steelers, but it's just really hard to bet against Brady, especially when he is favored by less than a FG.

Mike Wallace should have over 150 yards receiving in this game.

Shouldn't this be a no play?

Steelers have been playing decent enough that they can give Patriots trouble at home.

Playing a road favorite coming off their bye is a long term profitable play. Since 1990 it is 68-42-2 ATS (62%). Since Dec. 2nd 2007 it is 11-0-1 SU and ATS!

Since 1996, the Patriots are 8-0 SU and 6-2 ATS as road favorites coming of their bye. And they are 5-0 SU and 5-0 ATS since 1996 as a road favorite coming off their bye with a line of 6.5 or less.

Good luck to those on this game!

This game is really tricky. We know the history between these teams and the obvious lean is to the Pats. As the Monday nighter has shown, desire, will and game planning are key. Look for Pitt to take the air out of the ball. I know it seems counter intuitive in todays NFL but they will have a few bullet points to beat the Pats. T.O.P., which means 25 to 35 rushes in this game. This will help play action. Look for 3 to 6 stretch plays to help out and in turn clear the underneath passes. Look for an offensive game plan from the Steelers that the Pats have not seen yet. Call me crazy but don't be suprised the Steelers cover as the home dog.

If enough people pound on NE I would love to jump on Pitt at better odds later in the week

I jumped on the -2.5 Pats line. I think Brady leads the Pats to a touchdown win

The Patriots survived last year’s trip by outscoring the Steelers 39-26 in a game that was typical for New England’s offense but slightly concerning on defense?I like the Over in this game 50.1/2 [ Patriots 31-24] NOTE> The Patriots' defense has been sporadic this season, too, allowing an average of almost 424 yards per game. But Tom Brady and the offense have been potent enough to carry the Patriots to wins in every game but one so far..This game will be a shoot-out with both teams scoring in double digit numbers. Here Are Some Stats on my research of match-up that found on net.... Pittsburgh would never be considered one of the prettiest teams in the league, but its play has been effective enough to carve out a 5-2 SU start (3-4 ATS). After a 17-10 loss to Houston in Week 4 as a four-point road favorite,it has now reeled-off three straight victories in which it outscored its opponents by a combined score of 87-50 The total has gone ‘over’ in four of its seven games this year. The total has gone OVER in 8 of Pittsburgh's last 11 games The total has gone OVER in 6 of New England's last 8 games on the road. The total has gone OVER in 7 of Pittsburgh's last 8 games when playing New England. The total has gone OVER in 5 of Pittsburgh's last 5 games when playing at home against New England

Agreed as i mentioned in my WEEK 8 PICKS
"Look no further than how Gonklowski can spend the entire bye week with a pornstar with no legal probs while Ben Roethlisberger get accussed of raping a pig every off season. My point.. the PATRIOTS show a lot better BALL CONTROL which is exactly what this game will come down to."

Dudes... please take five minutes to watch my always entertaining, occasionally accurate Geno's Picks for this week. Where i break down this and 4 other NFL games Would love your feed back.. favorite joke? Dumbest Pick?

HAHAHA.. in my defense i was typing in a hurry.. if you watch the video, i know his name is Gronkowski. But you are right not to take me seriously after another guaranteed losing week.. need the Birds -3 and Bolts -3.5 to salvage a 2-3 week... yick!
