Most Overrated Football Player Right Here

    Emmitt Smith

Had the best offensive line of all time in front of him!!!
That O-Line opened huge holes for him, imagine if
Barry Sanders had that offensive line?

    Erik Williams-Larry Allen-Nate Newton C'mon.

Im really starting to like you.

Ive been telling friends for years this. Emmitt cant touch the performance of Barry Sanders. Barry is my favorite player ever so far in the NFL. He made me a Lions fan back in 1990. I couldny wait for Sundays to just watch what Barry could do.

I would get pissed off with Radio Stations and TV shows
trying to compare Smith and Sanders, they would ask
who is a better RB and shit. If someone said Emmitt was
a better RB I knew they knew nothing about football.

For any of you guys who didn't get to watch Barry, just
know he is the most exciting player I have ever seen and
everytime he touched the ball the threat of him scoring
    was felt by everyone.

Detroit had no QB, a terrible coach in Wayne Fontes and
a bad defense but still won games just because of Barry.

Onlooker I am glad you appreciate Barry. That should be a
    manlaw. Appreciate Barry Sanders. LOL

Emmitt Smith was a product of a great offensive line. just think at the numbers barry sanders would have put up behind that O-line.

They were 1 win away from the Superbowl in 1991. The Redskins killed them in the NFC championship game.

Barry Sanders is still my favorite player in the NFL, just to bad I dont get to see him play every week anymore. I wish he wouldnt of ended his career so early. He would of put the rushing title out of reach.

Thats another thing, the records didnt really mean much to Barry. But Emmitt it seemed he wanted that title more then anything toward the end of his career.

I'd rather put Payton in for Smith behind that line, but Smith still fares better in that system than most throughout NFL history. Overrated? Maybe. But, who's really rating him that high? I don't know anyone worth a damn that puts Smith over Payton, Sanders, or Brown.

Same goes for Michael Irvin. He was a great WR, probably HOF calibre, minus the drug problems. But, he's still way behind Rice.

Aikman, same thing. 3 rings, give him a HOF pass. Still, he's only slightly better than Brady. Don't even speak Aikman in the same breath with Montana, Elway or Marino. Please.

Aikman was one of the most accurate passers of all time.
I actually liked Aikman. He hardly threw INTs. Never
threw for more than 14 after his first 2 seasons.
