    Geno's Takes for October 17 2011

Ahh another lovely Monday as I review my 3-2 Week 6 Geno’s Picks—3-1 if I hadn’t offered you that awful bonus pick of the Texans+8, but when you have a joke like “facing the Texans is like walking into a black hair salon—you’re gonna see plenty of weapons ad very few blowouts”—you juts can’t keep it to yourself. Unfortunately it is I who is wigging out after the extension of that joke was my downfall in leaving me at 3-2 and sitting on the Fins and the points tonight. In any case, let’s see what other hair-raising things went on across the NFL yesterday...

    Thread of the Day
Yes I don’t usually start with these but I just can’t stress enough how easy it is to win a steak dinner on the thread every Monday… just go to the Monday Night FootbaLL - Ruth Chris Football Dinner and the swell fella Sam —and by swell I mean “cheap” and fella I mean “bastard”— will give you a 60 dollar dinner gift certificate to Ruth’s Chris Steak house for guessing the final score tonight. I kid of course, Sam is an awesome dude who is quite generous and would never saddle us with cheap meat— despite what he says about SBR Cynthia. Ok… now to the takes…

    Grossman scalped of his job
Sorry Tim Hightower, but the Eagles made it a little harder for you to get that Superbowl interview you were chirping about. Good news for Chris Cooley—no not that fractured hand you should have used to cover your mouth last week—didn’t have to wait til Tony Romo’s 4pm to crack up game as your own QB tossed FOUR rib tickling interceptions of his own—the fourth coming one play after the Redskins picked off a ball putting them in the birds red zone with a chance to cut the lead to 6. This is what we talked about in this week’s video that every real NFL contender knows—don’t put a bullseye on your head because it’s a long NFL season. Now the 3-2 Redskins have a ton of realities to deal with, like the fact that both QB’s on their depth chart—yup they only have 2—are nothing more than NFL quality backups. I’m not saying neither one knows what they are doing but they both look at a playbook like an Alzheimer’s patient look at a photo album… confused while everyone circled around them hope they can remember just one page.
Oh and on top of that, two of their three wins came against the Cards and Rams who are a combined 1-9 in the NFC West and—while the other win came against the division leading Giants—it was at home in week one and everyone knows in the first week of the NFL season everything goes out the window like a baby at the Clapton residence. Oh and while we’re “dropping” names, here’s an article that shows how pathetic the Skins hopes are… where they say it may be time to start the John Beck Era… an Era is something that lasts a long time and changes the way we look at things, this will be the John Beck comma—a short pause that allows you to catch your breath an little else.

The Pat heard round the World
Even though the story should have been that after an amazing 60 minutes of play between the Lions and Niners game—where we saw the lead change hands more than Mexican baby on the first Friday of the month—that Detroit and San Fran are both 5-1. We instead had to suffer through the shoving match Schwartz started after an over-exuberant Jim Harbaugh shook hands with Jim Schwartz at midfield and then slapped him on the back. I guess that stung a little more than the loss because that is what spurred Schwartz to run after Harbaugh and bump him before the two were separated otherwise we’d be discussing how they were going to reattach Schwartz nose to his face this week. Stop being a little cry-baby Schwartz—you do it all the time after your wins and would you rather get patted on the back by a QB that’s been out of football for 15 years or have your own 6’6” 260lb TE collapse on you in the middle of a game tearing your MCL and breaking your knee like Jimmy Graham did to Sean Payton. And unlike the whiny attention-demanding baby Scwartz is, you didn’t hear a peep out of Payton. Unfortunately, you didn’t hear a peep out of is offense either; they fell to the Bucs 26-20 yesterday afternoon.

Ahhhhhh, Geno. That glib, side splitting, point spread spouting podcaster. Well kids, Geno may be an amusing diversion for those who need a little comic relief but for those that are looking to get paid, then come into the light.

Look no further than my podcast/article where I went 3-1-1 and a whopping +7.8 units with my only loser being my smallest unit play on the board. I have one play left for the week in that podcast and she goes tonight. Hear and read it here http://www.sportsbookreview.com/nfl-football...hnson-a-21619/

With the money money you earn, you can hire Geno to pole dance, make his world famous manicotti or even tell a few jokes. But if you want lockline winners then just remember...I am Swinging Johnson and you're not!

I hate you.. not because you did so well.. that's why i love you.. i hate that i couldn't find your week 6 til it was too late.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not hesitate to post the link to your podcast on my weekly picks page and my Twitter... like i just did @genospicks (see.. i just made it look like we hang out all the time) and now-- when people are done laughing at my video and by that i mean for the picks much more than the jokes-- they can make a little coin at your page.

That said... Nice week buddy as you were spot on and not just WITH YOUR RICHARD SIMMONS IMPERSONATION!!! <3 Still, I know your 9 year old told you a Raven could fly higher than a Texan so can't give you props for that but great call on the Birds and nice balls pick on the big line with the Pack (i got scared by that so i took the slightly smaller large line with Pitt -12 and paid for it)

That said let's go Fins... let's use that hook to land the Dolphins tonight!!! (i hear ya groaning buddy)
