    Interesting Wonderlic Scores (Race Stats)

These scores are for 2010 starting QBs... but to add in, Cam Newton got a 21 on the test...

It is interesting to note that no African American QB ranked higher than 18th (Freeman) and that the 3 who finished dead last are all African American.

Some say these scores mean nothing... but...

    • No Super Bowl Champion has been led by a QB with a Wonderlic score below 24, since 2000 (Trent Dilfer)
    • 88% of teams with a winning record in the NFL, in the past 2 seasons, have been led by a QB with a Wonderlic score of 25+ (of the known scores)
    • The best NFL performing QB with a Wonderlic score of 24 and under, drafted in the past 10 years, is (your choice) of Michael Vick, David Carr, Vince Young or Jason Campbell
    • None of the elite QBs of today (Brady, Brees, Manning, Rivers, Roethlisberger, etc) have scored below a 25 on the Wonderlic

Wonderlic scores for the NFL's projected starting quarterbacks:
    1. Ryan Fitzpatrick 48
    2. Alex Smith 40
    3. Eli Manning 39
    4. Matt Stafford 38
    5. Tony Romo 37
    6. Aaron Rodgers 35
    6. Matt Leinart 35
    8. Tom Brady 33
    9. Matt Ryan 32
    10. Matt Schaub 31
    11. Philip Rivers 30
    12. Matt Hasselbeck 29
    12. Marc Bulger 29
    12. Brady Quinn 29
    15. Mark Sanchez 28
    15. Peyton Manning 28
    15. Drew Brees 28
    18. Josh Freeman 27
    18. Joe Flacco 27
    20. Carson Palmer 26
    20. Jay Cutler 26
    20. Kyle Orton 26
    23. Ben Roethlisberger 25
    24. Jason Campbell 23
    25. Brett Favre 22
    25. Tim Tebow 22
    25. Chad Henne 22
    28. Bruce Gradkowski 19
    29. Vince Young 15
    30. Donovan McNabb 14
    30. David Garrard 14

Here are a sample of 15 questions.

They give you 50 questions on the test.

Do you really want someone leading your team who can only get 1/3rd of common sense questions right?

If Peyton Manning gets a mediocre 28, how important could this test really be?

    This thread isn't racist...

I agree that not all scores are indicative of success... the main one that jumps out is Alex Smith's 40... LOL!

But all of the elite QBs score in at least the top half, besides maybe Big Ben, but lets be honest, Big Ben gets it done a different way, his blood is boiling with adrenaline from all the girls he raped on Saturday.

Brett Favre wasn't an elite QB? Rothlisberger. Brees and Manning barely in top half.

Quite frankly don't think it means a whole lot. Of the top 6, only Rodgers is elite.

This test means everything....the truth is...african americans do not make good QB's...theyre too dumb....

this tells it all....anybody who wants to argue facts is a idiot

An estimated 12 percent of all black males in their twenties were in jails or prisons last June 30, as were an estimated 3.7 percent of Hispanic males and 1.6 percent of white males in that age group. Sixty-eight percent of prison and jail inmates were members of racial or ethnic minority groups.

    That is what I'm saying.

I don't think intelligence is a HUGE deal for playing QB... but some of the guys scoring 14,15,16 have to be borderline mentally challenged, and being led by a complete moron IS a problem.

    For real...

Cam Newton looks like he is going to be a great QB. If not one of the best this game has ever seen. You can see the talent he has just in the first few games he played in. This is with him missing all of OTA, training camp, and rushing into the preseason.

What difference does it matter if he's retired. He got his score when coming into the league and then had a HOF career. Just goes to show that it doesn't take a genius.

Just saying, McNabb choked away how many super bowl opportunities? I'm sure his lack of intelligence had a lot to do with it, I mean hell, the moron didn't even know that a game ended in a tie after a scoreless overtime.

what does being booksmart or knowing facts or having paid attention in school have to do with quarterbacking?

you can be a good problem solver/ situation processor or be good at risk management or making good decisions or you can see defenses and know when your offensive play is bad for it etc etc without having tried to learn the different types of triangles or any other random facts.

you guys are pretty stupid to think that genetically their brains cant compute information because they f*cked up a test. you think all these athletes do all their work through highschool and college and get the same treatment and grading as everyone else? no way.

some people had it instilled in them since youth (the importance of excelling in school) and some people did not. can blame the environment or a number of things.

is greg mcilroy a better quarterback than mike vick last year? before they tried to make avant and macklin #1 receivers. jacksons fast; hes a big offensive advantage when healthy.

would you trade your teams starting quarterback for greg mcilroy? he got a very high score on the wonderlic test.

Teams that fail to admit certain facts of life will continue to fail...

A Black QB will not win a superbowl any time soon...

A Black head coach will not win a superbowl without a Hall of Fame white QB any time soon...

You want any more proof?? Look into the University of Colorado's football program... White Guilt has led them to hire a black coach, who in turn hired his black friend as offensive coordinator (an ex runningback ) They have a 5th year solid QB and can barely get a first down.. Watch the games, dont blame me...

Liberalism has ruined our country, and it is now ruining or sports!!!

If Vince Young can't multiple 21 X 4, what faith do you have in him that he'll be able to read complex NFL defensive schemes???

anyone can teach anyone how to multiply single digits by double digits even by adding in less than an hour. maybe he just never bothered to learn that or care about that. he showed his resume' from college and note from the doctor, he knew a lot of teams wanted him.

if he is taught to read complex defenses he can have a higher rate of success there. what means what, what are favorable matchups for your team. memorize these plays. make adjustments when the linebackers are clogging the strong side on a run or make your progressions systematically. he is bothering to learn this because it is his job and what he wants to do.

i see you changed this post. im glad i already quoted it.

i am not saying he is lacking in intelligence. i am saying you are. look how smart he is and look how stupid of a play he made here in this video. that has nothing to do with a lack of talent. he didnt have the instincts and the poise to handle the situation and all his booksmarts failed him when he tried to pass the ball 9 yards passed the line of scrimmage.

    Glitch,

    You're the racist, not us...

You're the one that isn't to bright, not McElroy...

McElroy would have been "dumb" to do "nothing", which many players do on the last play of a game...tThe guy is one of the smartest players in the league, the fact that you argue this just shows how clueless you are...

And to ignore the differences in race, is just downright Fukkin idiotic brainwashed liberalism... If you have a father he should smack you upside the head for being so Fukkin gullible...

there is a large and unfortunate disparity in the education quality various ethnicities receive in the US. Inhibitors include but are not limited to environmental, social, cultural and financial factors that do create this academic dichotomy.

This does not mean that because an individual has more pigment in their skin that their brain functions at a lower potential capacity.
    ........................

secondly- we are arguing whether or not getting great grades in school and being a "good test-taker" makes you the best football player or even best football player at that position where "intelligence" is very important.

You are arguing that wonderlic scores mean nothing. Which shows you are clueless. Much like the worst QB's in the NFL, who happen to be black. It's not their fault... It's the liberal who put him in the position to fail in the first place...

    So what are you??

highlight the part where you think i said wonderlic scores mean nothing? It is one way to measure one kind of intelligence and one's information-retention skillset. i am not anti-wonderlic, nor have i criticized its value or effectiveness in measuring what it measures.

This is what jimmy the great said to get ostracized.

some things can be attributed to environmental conditioning and some things are a result of genetics, and still some other things are influenced by both. Breeding and heredity.) DNA passed down intentionally to biologically manufacture the best hunter and then later in early america and in other places- the best worker.

I noticed you won't quote the whole post or even attempt to answer my question about being Liberal or Black...

So I will just assume with your over educated answer with a bunch of big words that you use to appear to be smart, that you're a liberal suffering from severe white guilt...

not sure what words were too big but lets simplify here.

    1. there are multiple ways to measure the multiple different types of intelligence.
    2. many minorities and inner city youth are put at a disadvantage (that they can overcome) automatically as a result of their upbringing. This is not because their brains dont have the right parts.
    3. greg mcelroy is a genius and a winner (on good teams through HS and college). but his instincts did not lead him to make the good QB play in that posted video at the bottom of page 1. in fact, many would say thats the stupidest football play theyve seen in a long time.

On the surface, if someone reads this thread they might think I'm the racist...

But people that have lived a little, know you're the one blowing smoke up their ass...

You, and your bullshitting, over-educated, liberal cult that lies to people daily are the Fukkin racists..

You guys are the ones that stir up shit with your nonsense...

You and your kind should be the enemy of the world...Not races or religions...
