Saints -7. The performance they put up against the Packers was very solid, and will put their foot down on the Bears.

I just don't buy the atlanta hype. They are 3-5 the last 2 seasons against legitimate superbowl contender teams (New Orleans, Greenbay, Chicago, Baltimore, Pittsburg, Philly)

this is a soft defense and a really bad secondary. If Vick has time to throw the ball, the eagles will score 30+ with ease

not to mention the eagles dominated atlanta last year with kevin kolb starting
last year has nothing to do with this year. kolb is a good qb. rams are not atl. you dont fade matty ice at home.

except that he's lost his last 2 home games against decent teams (saints and packers)

and he should have lost that game against baltimore as well last year... got lucky on a horrible no call on a blatant offensive pass interference by white

Atlanta is 3-5 against superbowl contenders last 2 seasons, the falcons are scrub hunters...end of story

The Eagles were lucky today. Watched the game from start to finish. The score was deceiving.

Vick was very rusty in this game, really bad accuracy throwing the ball and the eagles still had 400+ yards of offense

The important thing here to notice was the dominant defense by the secondary. The Rams QBs barely had 180 yards passing and all those new defensive linemen resulted in 5 sacks and a fumble returned for a touchdown

The eagles have the best secondary and best defensive line in the league

Will the Eagles win big because they are the "better" team... You saw how far that got you in baseball.

yea I do, I realize that's an area of weakness for philly but they should improve as the season goes on. I mean they had the same set of young linebackers last year and they dominated turner (just 45 yards on 15 carries)

I don't think it will matter though, cause Matt Ryan is not gonna match score for score against Mike Vick considering the difference in the quality of secondary between the 2 teams (Philly has the best secondary in the league, Atlanta has a terrible secondary)

We're talking about a team here that had 20 yards rushing against a horrible jacksonville defense. Luke Mccown (a guy who I had never heard off before this game) looked like peyton manning out there completing 71% of his passes

Finally someone posts a topic about the following week before MNF. I don't think that happened all of last year on this board.

There is typical overreaction in the lines for week 2.

Take a look at what the week 2 lines were before the season started....

The current lines are in bold..

    KANSAS CITY DETROIT (-4) (-8)
    SEATTLE PITTSBURGH (-11) (-14)
    OAKLAND BUFFALO (-1)
    GREEN BAY (-9.5) CAROLINA
    BALTIMORE TENNESSEE (-4) (-5.5)
    CLEVELAND INDIANAPOLIS (-7.5) ( -3 CLE)
TAMPA BAY MINNESOTA (PK) (-3 MIN)
    ARIZONA WASHINGTON (-7) (-4.5)
    CHICAGO NEW ORLEANS (-4) (-7)
    JACKSONVILLE N.Y. JETS (-8)
    DALLAS SAN FRANCISCO (PK)
    SAN DIEGO NEW ENGLAND (-6)
    CINCINNATI (-1) DENVER
    HOUSTON MIAMI (-3)
    PHILADELPHIA ATLANTA (-3) (-2.5 PHI)
    ST. LOUIS N.Y. GIANTS (-7)
There is a lot of value on the board and it will be there all week. The question to ask now is which lines are going to move and which direction? Take a position now and buy back later in the week if you need to.

But there will be just as many "upsets" next week as there was this week because week 1 didn't tell us a whole lot. If anything week 2 is more difficult to cap because of the inflated lines and misconceptions.

Brah you are taking the mentality you used with baseball and applying it here.

The better team will win every time approach does not work.

How do you figure lucky? Once PHI got the lead STL had no chance coming back. PHI defense is built to tee off on the QB and let that secondary shut things down. The game went as expected. The S-Jax injury is a complete copout for the STL backers. With or without him, PHI was going to win this by double digits.

AtL ATS and teased to 7.5 look like the play to me, good luck brah

Why is the line only +5.5

Balti -5.5 is a gift right?

I expect this season to be a repeat of the 2007 season with the patriots where the pats covered every spread the first half of the season and then the linemakers started making them 14 point favorites every game and then you were fcked

But I will keep tailing them until the linemakers adjust. This is an awesome awesome team with the best secondary and defensive line in the league to go along with an offense that averaged 32 points per game when Vick started last year

I just think there are much better plays out there. Tennesse looked horrendous today and they will face a really really good baltimore defense next week. I couldn't believe how bad their running game was this week against a team with one of the worst defensive lines in the league

if you want to play an underdog, the bears +7 are a great choice
