    Ricky Williams A Raven

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/68...vens-backfield

Running back Ricky Williams has agreed to a contract with the Baltimore Ravens.
The Ravens announced the deal on Monday, pending Williams passing a physical Tuesday.
Williams agreed a two-year deal worth $2.5 million with some escalators that could make the contract worth $4 million total, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. In Baltimore he will back up starting running back Ray Rice.
Williams' signing in Baltimore was first reported by ProFootballTalk.com. He will help fill a void in the Ravens backfield created by the departures of Willis McGahee and Le'Ron McClain.

    NFL Transactions Analysis

ESPN.com's division bloggers react to all of the big NFL free-agent signings and trades throughout the frenzied post-lockout period.

The 34-year-old Williams has 9,565 yards rushing in 131 career games. In 2010, he rushed for 673 yards while sharing carries for the Miami Dolphins with Ronnie Brown.
Brown has signed with the Eagles for the 2011 season.

Williams had been with the Dolphins since 2002, longer than any other player on the roster. His longevity is a surprise considering he retired for a season in 2004 and played in only one NFL game in 2006-07, when he served a suspension for violating the league's drug program.
In 2009, Williams took over full-time running back duties after Brown suffered an injury and finished with 1,121 yards, his highest total since 2003.

Most likely be primarily used as a Goaline RB with the loss of McGahee and McClain.

I hope the Ravens find a way to motivate Ricky as well as the Dolphins did.

Good signing, I guess. He won't see many touches, but he should be motivated by the heavy ganja trade in Balty

On some radio station he said he was done after he finished his contract with the dolphins, was planning on going to medical school or some crap. Pulling the Tiki "Loser" Barber acting like he is above football. Guy is dumber than dirt and try's to act so smart and enlightened. His 5 illegitimate children is also not helping him break the stereotype. It's cool Ricky, but just admit where you would be if it wasn't for football. At least Tiki would be contributing to society making that 60k as a GM at Applebee's.

Ricky is a young 34 year old

He was sharp as ever in Miami just did not get ball enough

He will be a major factor and will get plenty of touches

It should be a good fix for Ricky. Ravens are a run heavy team and they have great blocking for their runners. Ricky should and will take advantage of their system as he still has what it takes to do what he does. Now motivation is another factor, and maybe this would not pan out the right way if he is lacking on this motivation.

Ravens will be a tough team

If Ricky stays healthy would not be surprised he gets a lot of carries
