The Bills will be without four starters when they travel to New England to play the Patriots in a key AFC East game on Sunday.
Starting right guard Brad Butler (left knee sprain), starting defensive end Aaron Schobel (foot), starting strong safety Donte Whitner (separated shoulder), No. 2 receiver Josh Reed (ankle) and nickel back Ashton Youboty (plantar fasciitis) have all been ruled out for Buffalo (5-3).
Whitner will be missing his first game since hurting his shoulder in last week’s loss to the New York Jets. Schobel and Youboty have both missed four straight games, Butler will be sitting out his third, and Reed his second.
Bryan Scott will replace Whitner, while either rookies Reggie Corner or Leodis McKelvin will assume Youboty’s slot in the secondary at New England (5-3).
Right guard Jason Whittle (back) and linebacker Kawika Mitchell (ankle) are both questionable after being limited in practice all this week. If Whittle can’t play, Kirk Chambers would likely be his replacement.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots could again be short-handed at running back and cornerback when they face the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
Sammy Morris did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful. LaMont Jordan sat out practice the last two days and is listed as questionable.
Jordan has missed the last four games with a calf injury and Morris the last two with a knee injury. That has left the Patriots with only three healthy backs: Kevin Faulk, Heath Evans and free agent rookie BenJarvus Green-Ellis.
Three cornerbacks are on the injury list. Rookie Terrence Wheatley has been ruled out of Sunday's game with a wrist injury; Ellis Hobbs is questionable due to a shoulder injury; and Lewis Sanders is doubtful with a hamstring.
Nose tackle Vince Wilfork is questionable with a toe injury.
gonna have to take NE. they've played all year long with injuries, learned how to adaprt, overcome and improvise. whereas this is buffalos big year, and can't compensate with Schobel being out all these games. he's a big difference, and it's been noticeable in the L4games Buffalo has played. Randy Moss and Welker going against replacements for S and Nickelback......shouldn't have a problem with those defenders.
