SBR Points are basically a loyalty scheme.
You earn them every day just by posting as follows:

    2 points for logging in.
4 points for posting in any forum
1 additional point for posting in one of the sub-forums (Sports Handicapping).

You can also receive points from other posters for making helpful or informative posts, or win them in contests at SBRPicks.

You can also use them at the SBRBook, Casino or Racebook.

Once you have built up enough points, you are able to redeem them for rewards at the SBR Store.

You can visit all of the above mention areas of the site by clicking on the relevant link in your control panel which look like this.
    Points Awarded:

7 is the most you can receive daily just for posting, however there is a 25 point bonus once you cross every 1000 post landmark.

You can earn extra points by submitting blogs, you can read about that here.

You can also win points in the various contests, which you can view in the Handicapping Contests forum.

To prevent multi-accounting (ghosting), SBR has a rule that only one account per household or IP will receive points. The fact that you are receiving points now would indicate that you are OK in this respect.

As such you would receive points no matter where you log-in from.

So you can actually transfer over points? That is pretty interesting.. So if I thought someone else deserved more points I could just give them some?

Yes. That was actually one of the main original concepts of the points system - to reward helpful and informative posts/posters. Since the inception of the SBR Sportsbook and Casino, not to mention the SBR Store, it is fair to say that it is less common now.

How much are they worth? As a non Pro they're not really worth anything but if you click that link below your avatar and become an SBR Pro they'll suddenly have a lot of value, keeping in mind that when you become a Pro your points are automatically reset to 3000 for you to build up again.

It depends where you live. You can change it to Bitcoin if you're a US resident or sportsbook cash if you're not. Best thing to do is go in the Store and see what you can get for 3000 points.
