    I am considering going pro, but does this only apply to outside the US?

    "You can renew your Pro membership by making a €20 transfer to SBR via Skrill. This option is not available to first-time Pro applicants."

    I could persuade myself to do the $100 one time, but if I had to do that every year then I probably won't.

    US members donate again or use points. So yes that is for those outside US

    If you are in the US you can also donate 3000 points for renewal. It's pretty easy to get $100 worth of stuff if you are mildly active

    I understand your frustration. However, I just submitted my PRO app and would not have done so if NOT for the BTP non-pro deal. I BTP this week and would not have entered the contest if PRO only. Could be they thought a few non-pros winning points would create more pros.
