Betting against public when line does not move that way?
If the public is like 85% in favor of a certain line, but that over/under or spread stays the same or goes the opposite way, this would seem to be a wise bet to look at. Correct? I would assume the following would suggest that the big money bets are going against the public. Since the line moves with the money. It's a simple way of looking at it but I don't see how this would not be a great idea. Right?
One of the many flaws in that system is that by the time you bet it, you are getting the worst number (spread/total). And as any seasoned sports gambler will tell you, getting the best number will lead to better long term profit.
It's good to watch the line and money movement on a game and there are sites to give you stats but don't blindly bet on something just based on that. I tried that early on, works sometimes but often times it backfires. Do the research.
