I've played lots of online BJ over the years but stopped many months ago playing for real money. I still play for fun cos I enjoy playing BJ.

I would say it may be possible to win if you play short sessions of low hand value at a "non rigged" book but you must have a staking plan & discipline & should play perfect strategy. You should also have a plan when to walk away from a losing session.

My experience suggests that most books have rigged software especially offshore books, but some larger more reputable online casinos perhaps don't cheat. You need to do your own research into what online casinos are not rigged.

In those that are not rigged my experience suggests that if you play long sessions over a long period then you will defo lose in the long run for a few reasons including: house edge, variance, not playing perfect strategy, chasing losses, making mistakes, being greedy when winning, lack of discipline, no staking plan, etc.

Iam also convinced there is a winning strategy for online BJ, I but have yet to find it. I don't personally have the discipline to strictly adhere to a plan so I don't play for real money now.

Why the hell would there be a winning strategy for online BJ when the only winning strategy for offline blackjack is counting cards? Even perfect strategy you're playing at a -2% EV. Yeah, you could win short term, but continue to do it and lose money long term, period. Unless the online casinos simulate single-deck blackjack, in which case you could count cards, but I'd be surprised.

You have a shot a making some cash by being agressive, lucky and using a hit and run mentality. For example at betdsi with the 100% casino chip, the limit per hand on blackjack is 50/hand. you'd actually need to bet to just throw it all out on the come out bet and bet a few 100 hand to have decent shot at meeting a 24,000 RO, sure it happens but it's one in a 1000 they way they protect themselves.

my advice would be to follow the correct blackjack strategy below and only ever play in short spurts (30 mins - 1hr) st LIVE casinos (not computer software) either online or offline. It is hugely important that you split, double down etc when the opportunity arises - this way you are increasing your odds of profitability.

profits can be made but you have to set yourself a win limit and loss limit and walk when you reach either of these!

Play craps instead and learn to roll well. Only look to win one roll then walk. Sports can be capped, table games can't.

If you are new to blackjack (or anything casino), definitely start by reading the wizard of odds (which is where the table Chuck posted comes from).

I recommend not playing BJ online for a few reasons. One, you really don't know if its rigged or not. Secondly the rate at which you can play hands is a recipe for disaster. You can play 10 hands in a minute and lose at an incredibly fast rate..since alot of success in bj comes with knowing when to bet big, playing online is a losing proposition.

I love bj and can play at a casino for hours on end, but I know better than to.play online.

    Check out www.blackjackinfo.com

Also, be careful with those basic strategy cards. Every one is designed for a specific set of rules and every casino is different. Unless you've got some great bonuses you aren't going to have a positive EV by playing at an online casino. With basic strategy and decent rules without counting you can cut the house edge to -.4 to -.25 percent depending on specific casino rules (stand or hit on soft 17, etc.).

The guys behind blackjackinfo know their numbers which is all Blackjack really is.

Best of luck to play winning blackjack be ready for HUGE variance, and long hours.
