how much did i win? lose? not sure how to calcuate payout?

    hi all,

i am a noob on this site and have a newbie question to ask.

if i bet with a bookie (on 1 team)...

$100 on point spread + $100 over/under + $100 on point spread +over/under (he said something about this part is an AR bet?)

how much did i actually win?

if i lose, how much do i pay him?

AR is short for "action reverse"

If you won all 3 bets above you would be +600

if you lose all 3 you are -440

if you split you are -130

    (above based on -110 vig)

Good luck and stay away from reverse bets.

thank you so much for clarifying, sweep. i appreciate it.

quick question, if i wanted to place a bet on the point spread + over/under ... is this automatically an AR bet?,
if not, how do i tell the bookie so that there is no confusion?
i was told by a local better that it is not an AR bet and the payout for $100 bet is $250 if won, is this true.

thanks in advance for any assistance.

If the payout is 250 on a 2 team bet I would assume that he is talking about a parlay. (pays 2.6 to 1)

When you call your guy you either tell him you want a 2-team action reverse or a 2-team parlay. A $100 parlay should pay $260 if you win, if you lose one or both games you just lose the initial $100.

On a $100 reverse bet if you win both games you win $400, if you split you lose $120, if you lose both you lose$220.
