1% of my bankroll is a unit and I try like hell to never bet more than 3 units (3% of my bankroll) on any single game.

So, 1% of the bank roll is one unit, and never bet more than 3 unit on one game. Is that all? What about everybody who bet 10 units on a game?

what about this strategy everyone? need feedback.

bet #1= 1 unit, result assumption : Loss
bet #2= 2 unit (to cover the loss on the first bet and make profit if win), result assumption: LOSS
bet #3= 4 unit (to cover the loss on bet # 1&2 and make profit if win), result asumption: WIN!

and after win, do the bet #1 again start again with 1 unit.

    do it over and over.

    is it good?

I dont believe in chases personally but they work for some people i suppose. I agree with illusion; i would never bet over 3% of your bankroll on one play

okay so i'm pretty new to the sports betting. sports has always been my interest..but betting, i've only done for i'd say 3 or 4 years. Can't ever seem to win. I stopped for about a year, and looking to try and give it a try again. So say i deposit $200 into an account. That would make a unit worth $2 and I should never bet more than $6 on a play. Am i correct!? Normally when i'd deposit around this amount, i was betting $20 to $30 a game

I have yet to find a consistent place to buy picks and believe me, I've tried most of them. I don't watch or follow sports but, I do understand risk/reward, ROI and patience. Personally, I like Gambling God's single daily pick as well as Cockblocker and The Investor. Flat betting 1-2.5% of Bankroll and resisting the urge to splurge or chase is key to long term success. My bankroll is 2k active, 1k reserve and I bet $20 per unit and play 3-6 games a day. Be patient, you got to be in it to win it and not setting on the sidelines broke because you went psycho betting $50 with a $200 bankroll. Sorry if this is a little long but, Money Management is the single biggest killer of bankrolls. If you think some of these people in here are good-follow ALL their past posts and determine that for yourself. BOL

that's called the Martingale System, and no for pretty obvious reasons it won't work long term.

if you had an infinite bankroll, and the casino/bookmaker would accept bets that high, then yes, you can't lose forever.

however, you DON'T have an infinite bankroll, the casino/bookmaker DO have betting limits, and yes, you CAN go on a long enough losing streak to lose your bankroll.

if you're starting with like, $1 bet on a $1,000 bankroll that you can afford to lose, not accounting for juice it would only take 10 straight losses to bust you. keep in mind, this is only to win a dollar. at some point, you'd be betting $512 to win $1.

even people that want to try this system usually can't pull the trigger when it gets too high.

people do this all the time betting red/black. a lot of the time, it ends up bad.

just check out the wiki link i left.

Depends on what sport you bet on and the size of your bankroll?

I think 3% per game is too low, though it is bankroll depending.
I think you should downgrade your bet's amount while your bankroll is growing up.
For example, it may be 5 or even 10 % per game while yout BR is lower than $100, but I think it should be 1% as max when your BR is grater than 100 000.

I think discipline is key. Say u start with $100
Make 5% single bets. Spreadsheet everything from day 1. I.E on payday take $50 and load. Forget about the money. 5% single bets. Next payday load $50. Do this and then crunch the math.

Play 1 game per day. Focus much more on your handicapping. Study markets.

    Recipe for success!
