The Huskies are going to beat everybody's new favorite team: The North Carolina Tar Heels. The country has fallen in love with this squad. In some aspects, you can't blame them. They have some very good young talent and were able to win a lot of games down the stretch and knock off Duke in the regular season finale. However the Heels are sporadic as are most young teams. We saw them struggle in the conference tourney and I saw this as a reality check that although UNC is talented, they really aren't an elite team.
Washington has an experienced leader who despite his size can do it all. Isaiah Thomas is able to get to the bucket with ease and just when you think he's going to blow by you can step back and knock down a jumper. He draws a lot of attention and consequently it opens up opportunities for other players to score. Bryan-Amaning is one of those players. He scores most of his points on the low block and I think between him and Thomas, they will be able to neutralize UNC's strengths with regard to post play and guard play respectively.
I have watched both these teams a lot this year and in all honesty these seedings really don't give these two teams justice as I think this is essentially an even matchup. Let's not forget that we're talking about the ACC regular season champs vs. the Pac-10 tourney champs. Having said that, the 4.5 is a gift while the ML has a great chance of hitting. As a side note, I think the total is too high and that under is a good play but i will stay away from that.
Washington +4.5 (10x); ML +170 (6x)
