Tough call on that 4th spot. First 3 probably locked in, Duke if they win, does UNC take the final spot with a win tomorrow? Should be interesting.

    Anyone debating ND, consider this.

ND has more wins over teams in the top 25 RPI than any other team, and more wins over top 50 RPI teams than anybody.

I'd rather wait until the conference tournaments are over.

    Right now I'd say:

    Ohio State, Duke, Kansas, Pittsburgh

Most brackets still have ND as a #1, but for me I moved them down for the winner of DUKE/UNC. If UNC wins tomorrow I think they would be a weak #1 but got to give them credit for being ACC regular season Champs and ACC Tourny Champs.

Pittsburgh lost in their Conference tournament. I don't think they will get #1 seed.

Keep in mind in recent years the committee has rarely penalized a top team from losing in conference tourney. So Pitt has nothing to worry about.

Probably doesn't make much difference. This could be the year things get very crazy. Kansas and Ohio State have proved to be solid from the start of the season; after those two, not so much.

    Ohio St
    Kansas
    Notre Dame
Pitt or Duke if they win

OSU and Kansas are locks. I think the UNC/Duke winner will be the 3rd. Since SDSU won, I would lean towards Pitt for the 4th. I dn't think ND will get it

I don't even think SD St or UNC have a chance at it. SD St playing in that conference could only get it if they were undefeated. UNC just not good enough all year and their ACC tourney wins are gross. Duke will probably get it if they win. Ohio St/Kansas obviously locks. Then I'd go ND over Pitt because they won at Pitt and then the 40 point Cincy smashing still fresh in the committee's minds.

We all agree Ohio State and KU are locks.

Notre Dame has a lot going for it, but can you really give a #1 seed to a team with 6 losses, that also failed to win either the regular season or tournament championship of its conference?

What happens if UNC beats Duke on a last second shot tomorrow? Would they give both Duke/UNC a #1 seed? All hell would break loose so I say no.

I do think UNC gets a #1 if they win. Same for Duke.

Which leaves one spot between ND and Pitt. One Big East team HAS to get a #1 seed. They HAVE to. Pittsburgh has two fewer losses, and won the regular season championship. But they lost their only match-up to Notre Dame. How do you choose? I don't know on that one. Maybe it's a coin flip. Whichever way, I say you give one the #1 seed in the East, and the other the #2 seed in the East.

BYU/SDST will get one #2 seed. Texas will get one. And Duke/UNC loser will get the other. They won't put Texas in KU's bracket, nor will they put the Duke/UNC loser in the winner's bracket, which means Kansas will get the BYU/SDST choice, Ohio State will get the Duke/UNC loser, and the Duke/UNC winner will get Texas.

Of course, that's using logic to predict the outcome, and as we all know, rarely does this type of logic dictate seeding in the NCAA field.

Tar Heel fan here and i agree Heels have had a great run should they be a number one even with a win over Duke probably not maybe a 2 seed. But for some of you clowns making a arguement about Duke there is no way. What is there best win this season Kansas State or Temple what Michigan st is that a big win? This team is so overrated by so many people it amazes me. Carolina has dominated Duke for 3 halves of basketball. I do think Duke will beat them tomorrow but the acc just isn't that tough this season. Duke should not be a number one regardless.

With Duke's existing resume, winning the ACC title puts them over the top, without a doubt.

    If Duke wins, I think it's a near-lock they get a #1.

Going 28-4 playing in a major conference, 4th in RPI I believe, ranked 5th going into the conference tournament...

For all those questioning Duke getting a #1, they have been consistent all year and there aren't many good teams at the top.

UNC if they win, SDSU (maybe Pitt) if Duke wins

Who should get the four 1 seeds? Right now I would say (in no particular order):

    Kansas
    Ohio State
    San Diego State
    Duke

But I agree with VegasInsider as far as who will get the four 1 seeds. If North Carolina gets a 1 seed, it will be a ******* joke. The ACC isn't very good this season. They needed two miracles to reach the final of the ACC tournament. The Mountain West Conference is greater than the ACC this season, but the selection committee doesn't respect teams from the "non power conferences."

I don't think UNC has any chance to be top seed. Your your top 3 are probably right on, and you are right about Duke if they win. If UNC wins, the fourth with probably be either Notre Dame or (GASP) San Diego State, most likely ND though.

Bottom line Duke is overrated. Carolina has pretty much dominated them this season. Duke as i said best wins are over Kansas St and Michigan st. I don't think either team regardless of tomorrow deserve a number one seed and i'm a huge Heels fan.
