    what is the importance of these tournaments these next few days? Do lesser teams play better?

    Yep, if you lose your season is over. No at large bids coming from any of these conferences.

    It's essentially just cannon fodder in the end since most of the conference tournament champions end up being one and done teams in the big dance. Oh well, gotta have some underlings to feed to the big dogs.

    I think this year is different, some small conference schools could make an impact...like Mason, Oakland or Belmont.
