I like a NW bounceback today....especially with Nolen out for the Gophers. With the loss of Devoe Joseph last month, this team doesn't have a true point guard...uhhh ohhh

I like the Charlotte and Umass picks, GW not so much as Xavier is very good at home...staying away from that game.

Glad to see you with me on GW, I love mid majors on the road getting 13, they win outright almost half the time.

indifferent on 4 of the games but I think Temple could absolutely blow past Charlotte. They've lost 3 in a row ATS and looked pretty bad but they are in fact a very good team

Charlotte is typically all over the map. You're right -- they're very capable of losing this game by 30.

They're also capable of keeping it in the single digits.

Who knows with them. Totally erratic.

I agree with Rutgers +10.5, and Charlotte +16 but otherwise I go vise versa.

Ya know I was thinking how about we do a thread, LT vs Jhaug and we could make 4 picks a day and compare them. Because you're the statistical guy with the site, and I am more so just the knowledge of majority of the teams. Let me know what you think!

In theory I can see your point. Tubby Smith isn't that great at guarding jump shooting teams like Michigan, NW, and Ohio State. Add to that they're playing a team that relies heavily on forcing turnovers without 2 of their point guards. Also, NW is an excellent 3pt shooting team, and the rims at Williams Arena are notoriously soft.

...however, NW's defense is TERRIBLE. When you play that much zone and jack that many 3s, your rebounding ability is basically zilch, and Minnesota is an elite rebounding team with all that size. Plus, Trevor Mbakwe has been an instant impact player for the Gophers this year. Add to that home court and the fact that NW will have to foul late in the game I can see Minnesota covering 5 points.
