I realize they are the better offensive team, but Illinois is the more experienced team, and Washington's inside players make Paul Davis look like Glen Davis. The battle on the sideline is a complete mismatch, and Illinois is infinitely better defensively. My line is Illinois -5, and I think they cover that number.
Good luck, rest of the world.
imgv the pac 10 is always underrated in sports. From living on both coasts I think there is a strong east coast bias in college sports, especially football. i can't stand the sec. look at tennessee this year. there were some touting them as potential national champs before the season started and where'd they end up. LSU got to share the national champioship with usc a couple years back because they were an overated sec team
Sorry for anyone that had Illinois in this game. As Pete and Winston suggested, the officiating left a lot to be desired, and I actually broke a chair while watching this game.
Terrible coaching. Illinois had the game won, by outrunning WAS, then started to play straight into WAS hands by slowing down the game to a snail's pace. I realize they did so to get their starters (in foul trouble) back in the game for the final minutes, but it didn't work, and the only one to blame is the coach. It would have been far better to leave those starters in, blow the game open even further (already up 11 pts), and then, if indeed they did foul out, finish the game by slowing it down with bench players.
