**, any thoughts on UK? SCAR isn't that great and UK could push hard for a win here. Several times this year when teams have lost a big name they've upped the intensity and won (UCONN, Austin Peay, etc).

Be careful with Duquesne **. They are without starting center and leading scorer Shawn James, who is also fifth in the country in blocked shots at 4.1 per game.

i'm all over temple today...this was my entry from last night in the ML parlay discussion thread

    wow...here's a sleeper play Temple -7

Shawn James is doubtful...the leading scorer and rebounder for Duquesne

Duquesne center Shawn James has torn cartilage in his right shoulder, and his status is uncertain for the rest of the season.

James was injured while attempting a dunk with about 10 minutes remaining during a 89-82 loss at Charlotte on Sunday. He sat out the rest of the game after making two free throws. The labrum tear was found during an MRI exam on Tuesday.

James is averaging a team-leading 13.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.1 blocks, fifth-best in the nation. Duquesne (16-11, 6-8) closes its conference schedule Saturday at home against Saint Louis.

"We're hoping Shawn can play again, even if it's limited minutes," coach Ron Everhart said. "He's an important player for us, but what's important is making sure Shawn is healthy."

James had a labrum tear in the same shoulder earlier in his career -- he played at Northeastern from 2004-06 -- but it was not surgically repaired.

He will see a shoulder specialist Wednesday, and it is expected he will need an operation on the latest tear once the season ends. If the specialist determines he can keep playing without doing additional damage to the shoulder, James will begin rehabilitation and attempt to play the rest of the season.

James, a 6-foot-10 junior from Brooklyn, did not accompany Duquesne on its trip to Philadelphia for Wednesday night's game against Temple.

The Dukes will play at least one game in the Atlantic 10 tournament in Atlantic City next week if they qualify. They are currently tied for 10th, and the top 12 qualify.

"We've got to go to Temple and play hard, get after them defensively, hit some shots and get some confidence back," Everhart said. "We know we can do it. We've just got to go and do it."

I'd be hesitant to take Duquesne. According to local and national reports, their center, Shawn James, didn't make the trip to Philly today after tearing something in his shoulder over the weekend. James is the Dukes' leading scorer, shotblocker, and rebounder.

The Dukes have also shot ~29% from three-point range their last four games. So, they're without the biggest part of their inside game and struggling from outside. And while they're playing to insure that they get into the Alantic-10 tournament, Temple still fancies themselves an NCAA bubble team. With that and the fact that it's senior night (senior co-captains of the team, including their 2nd highest scorer/top rebounder Tyndale)-- I see Temple as the play here.

This game opened at -7... I liked it then. It's now -5.5. With 73% of the public on Temple and the and the spread still shrinking, there's somebody out there with a lot of money who thinks differently than I do/knows something I don't-- or James did travel to Philly after seeing the doc this morning. So, now I don't know. Knowing what I did this morning, I like Temple -7. (I got it at ~+110 early this morning.) Temple ML at the least.

Edit: (Argh. I had to run an errand for my boss mid-response, and westside/LT beat me to it... so most of this post is redundant.)
