Ohio U - Two JC transfer guards Michael Allen and Allen Hester (suspension) are out Friday vs New Mexico State. Allen expected to compete for the starting PG job and Hester was considered one of the more athletic players on the team.

South Florida - Top player and starting center Kentrell Gransberry (suspension) is out for Friday against Cleveland State. Gransberry was third in the nation in rebounding a year ago and averaged 11.6ppg.

Alabama - Starting point guard Ronald Steele (knee) is expected to miss the season. When healthy Steele was one of the top PG's in the SEC.

Fresno State - Kentucky transfer forward Rekalin Sims (academics), a projected starter, will not play in this weekend's tournament.

New Mexico - Returning starting G/F Tony Dandridge (leg) is expected to miss up to 2 months. Dandridge averaged 12.5ppg last year and was the teams leading scorer on their summer tour.

Auburn - Starting F Josh Dillard (illness) is expected to miss the season. Dillard led the team in scoring a year ago. Starting F Quan Prowell (suspension) will miss the first six games of the season. Prowell was the second leading scorer at 12.0 ppg and considered by many to be their best all-around player.

Northern Iowa - Reserve guard Kwadzo Ahelegbe (shoulder) is expected to miss the next 3 games. Guard Carlton Reed (foot) is expected to miss 4 weeks.

Stanford - Starting C Brook Lopez (academics) is out for the fall semester. Lopez averaged 12.6 ppg last season

San Diego State - Returning starting PG Richie Williams (suspension) is expected to miss at least Friday's game and possibly more. Williams is considered one of the better PG's in the MWC.

Georgia - Starting forward Takais Brown (discipline) has been dismissed from the team for violating team rules. Brown led the team in scoring with 14.2 ppg. Starting G Mike Mercer (academics) has been suspended the first 15 games. Mercer averaged 13.6 ppg a season ago.

Eastern Washington - Reserve F Jack Loofburrow (foot) is out indefinitely. G Adris Deleon (eligibility) is out indefinitely. F Petar Milasinovic (ankle) missed the exhibition game and is questionable for Washington State

Washington State - Reserve Nikola Koprivica (knee) is practicing but doubtful Friday vs Eastern Michigan.

UNLV - Guard Kendall Wallace (ankle) and guard Marcus Lawrence (academics) missed last exhibition game and are questionable Friday.

UCLA - Star PG Darren Collison (knee) was injured during an exhibition and is expected to miss Friday. Starting G/F Josh Shipp (thumb) was injured during the exhibition but is probable for Friday. G/F Michael Roll (foot) is expected to miss 3 to 5 weeks. Forward Nikola Dragovic (hip) is questionable for Friday.

Georgia Tech - Starting F Ra'Sean Dickey (academics) is ineligible for the first semester. Dickey averaged 8.1ppg and 5.3 rpg last season.

UC Irvine - Starting center Darren Fells (discipline) will miss at least Friday's game vs LMU. Fells averaged 10.2ppg and 6.1 rpg a year ago as one of the team's best all around players.

Iowa - Starting point guard and leading returning scorer Tony Freeman (foot) was injured in exhibition game and will miss 4-6 weeks.

Virginia Tech - Touted freshman forward Terrell Bell (hernia) is expected to miss 3-7 weeks.

Hawaii - Starting point guard Matt Gibson (ankle) is expected to be a game time decision Friday vs San Diego.

Kansas - Starting guard Brandon Rush (knee) has resumed practice but remains out Friday vs UL Monroe.

Tennessee - Starting forward Duke Crews (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday and is questionable to doubtful Friday vs Temple.
