The last time the Catamounts of Vermont danced in the Field of 64, back in 2005, they stunned Syracuse in a first-round overtime thriller. After holding off Boston University to complete their domination of the America East Conference and finishing the year 25-9 overall, Vermont, coached by Mike Lonergan, is dancing once again. They started the season auspiciously with four losses in their first six games, though that did include a win at Rutgers, but finished strong in conference, winning 10 of their final 11. Led by two seniors in forward Marqus Blakely and Maurice Joseph, the Catamounts have size and speed and play defense with some of the best teams in the nation. Vermont is back in the ncaa tournament hoping to recapture the Cinderella magic they bestowed upon the Orange back in 2005.
